    You'll all be pleased to hear that Eckert has been playing 5 at the back all season for the U21s this year. I'm sure that will go down well with Saints fans on Wednesday.

    I'm not reading a lot into this, U21 formations/tactics copying the senior team is pretty common no matter where you are

    That's definitely the case when the first team are set up in specific system for the long term, like under Ralph/Martin, but Still was seemingly playing 5 at the back because he didn't feel the players were ready for anything else.

    Not that 5 at the back is doomed to fail anyway, I can just picture the collective groan as team sheets are announced.

    He did hold the record for most career PL yellow cards without ever being sent off, until Tarkowski overtook him last season.

    But when you consider some of the bad challenges that Tarkowski has got away with, Romeu really should still hold that record.
