Good Morning. It's Monday 3rd November, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Not fit to wear the shirt Leeds United’s trip to the south coast ended in embarrassment as Brighton & Hove Albion, despite a mounting injury list, produced a dominant display to sweep aside a disjointed and lifeless Leeds outfit. The Whites’ dismal record at the Amex extends back to 2009, and on the evidence of this performance, that barren run looks set to continue for some time. Brighton entered the contest on the back of two consecutive defeats and with little recovery time after their midweek exertions, yet they showed far greater energy, precision, and purpose throughout. Leeds, by contrast, looked bereft of ideas and confidence, with their decision-making and defensive organisation again under scrutiny. The tone was set early when Danny Welbeck, continuing a rich vein of form, opened the scoring in the 11th minute. The veteran striker finished off a slick move involving Yankuba Minteh and Mats Wieffer, volleying home from close range for his sixth goal of the season and fourth in three league outings. It was a goal built on tempo and understanding—qualities Leeds never came close to matching. A rare moment of opportunity for the visitors arrived just before half-time when Sean Longstaff’s shot was blocked inside the box by Jan Paul van Hecke, but that fleeting threat summed up their insipid attacking efforts. Even their approach to set pieces baffled commentators and fans alike, as a first-half free kick in a dangerous area was inexplicably played backwards rather than swung into the box. Any hopes of a Leeds recovery after the interval were swiftly extinguished by a quickfire double from Diego Gómez. Making his return to the starting lineup, the Paraguayan midfielder tapped home on 64 minutes after excellent wing play from Minteh, then drove in his second six minutes later from a Georginio Rutter cutback. Those strikes sealed Brighton’s fourth win in ten games and their first clean sheet of the campaign. In the pouring rain, Fabian Hürzeler’s side looked sharp and confident, while Leeds looked disinterested for much of the game. please log in to view this image Daniel Farke must go now Saturday’s dismal showing against Brighton exposed, once again, that Daniel Farke is completely out of his depth in the Premier League. Leeds United looked tactically lost, uninspired, and devoid of any coherent plan. The only thing keeping Farke in his job appears to be the hollow comfort of a recent victory over an abysmal West Ham side; a result that now looks more like a lucky break than a sign of progress. Farke’s failures are piling up. The summer transfer window was admittedly restricted by limited backing from the 49ers, but even within those constraints, the manager has done little to prove his worth. His poor decision-making, baffling substitutions, and stubborn refusal to adapt his tactics have all cost Leeds valuable points. The absence of a set-piece coach, in particular, is inexcusable. Week after week, Leeds squander opportunities from dead-ball situations and concede soft goals due to a lack of organisation, yet Farke persists with the same ineffective approach. Leeds United cannot afford to drift aimlessly under a manager who lacks the ability to get the most of his players. They look demoralised and confused, playing without purpose or confidence. That responsibility lies with the man in charge. Sentimentality or patience cannot disguise the truth; Daniel Farke has failed to lift this team from mediocrity and his football philosophy is not suited to the demands of the Premier League. To stand any chance of survival, Leeds must act decisively. Leeds need a head coach who can galvanise the squad, instill belief, and shape a system that plays to the team’s strengths. Daniel Farke is not that man. Every additional week under his leadership drags the club closer to disaster. For the sake of Leeds United’s future, Daniel Farke must go, and he must go now. please log in to view this image
'ooh you better go now,go now,go now,go now before you see me cry ooh I don't want it to end this waay' .
Morning all. Im unsure on the Farke thing, Im also unsure if summer signings have improved the team. Ive a feeling if we started the season with the one that won promotion we couldn't be worse than we are. Anyway, that's all hindsight. One things for sure, the 49ers haven't a clue about appointing managers or turning a club around. They have actually managed to make a poor Rangers team and club even worse. The sight of 30k fans walking out with ten minutes left in a semi final yesterday is living proof. Word of caution here, by all means sack Farke, Im not too bothered either way anymore but a lot of fans will be sorely disappointed in the next chapter to follow. Remember it's only a month since these daft yanks were telling potential investors that they were on the road to building a club that would be among the elite in Europe. Wasn't it Hockaday that came up with similar
Football is emotive, so let me remind everyone of a few facts 1. We're playing against teams that have squads with a higher value than ours... or do some believe that we were able to pick up these amazing bargains in the summer that the multi-million pound research teams of other clubs missed? Gudmondson was a steal we all said. He's looked half decent, but then he did randomly head the ball into his own net at Fulham, completley fck up for Spurs winner and get skinned regularly on Saturday. Maybe that's what £10m gets you. In short, if every manager in the PL was equal, we'd be relegated. And we might well be, but currently we're not in the bottom 3. 2. We're playing against teams that can choose the best managers available in the game, but despite having one of the weakest squads and a 'championship level' manager... we're not in the bottom 3. 3. We've been outplayed twice in 10 games. We were poor on Saturday, but how poor must the teams that haven't outplayed us have been then? How bad must their premier league managers be? Everyone loves Eddie Howe, but Newcastle couldn't beat us and just rolled over at West Ham with a squad worth mutliples of ours. What i'm politely saying is get a fckng grip
Ok Farke is out of his depth BUT who is out there to replace him!! please don’t anyone say Potter or the Aussie who would be better managing a team that kicks an oval ball. So I think we have him till it’s too late, let’s see.
Morning all Look, you win some, you lose some, that's football. I could have accepted a loss, but it was the manner in which we lost. I don't think Brighton has kept a clean sheet all season until Saturday. The game plan is predictable, and we've seen it for the last 2 years and 10 games. The 70th-minute substitutes have become a running joke. Any manager worth his salt will have seen this and found ways to counter it. We know who is going to come on at what point. It's ****ing predictable. I agree with Matt, we need to get rid of Farke, but then Eire (I think) commented yesterday Do you trust the 49ers to bring in the right man after they ****ed it up with the appointment of Martin at Rangers. There's another argument to be made that if we do get rid of Farke and the guy keeps us up, what's to say we won't have the same problem next season, and we just have a string of managers coming and going every season like Sunderland did a few years ago. The big problem for me is this run-up to Christmas. We've got Forest and Villa up next, then it's a ****ing nightmare of a situation where we could pick up no points. It will be interesting to see how the sacking at Wolves changes the game and how they will proceed with their next manager. It could be a very poor shout, but maybe it's time to bring Robbie Keane into the fold, a guy with links to the club. On another note, I'm questioning the signing of DCL, but I don't think Nmecha or Piroe is the answer either, and I've got a fear we're going to look in the Championship for players that might just be a terrible option because 1) they're American and 2) they're easy to get.
Milky is spot on as we are on paper the 19th squad valued team in a league of 20, so we should be favs to be in the bottom 3. We have however improved our keeper and LB and brought in 2 CBs and Bijol is an improvement on Struijk and Bornauw is an improvement on Wober in front of them Stach is an improvement on Tanaka and Gruev and so too probably is Longstaffe. So on paper defensively we are better. Forwards however not helping the cause. Okafor seems to be on a par with Solomon but is he as fit. Dan James hasn’t showed up so far so we miss him, Gnonto not here and besides hard graft we dont have a striker and we dont have any creation besides Okafor. Tactics are lacking as playing out from the back under a high press we are not good enough. Too much sideways and backwards play on the forward line inflates possession stats but limits attacks. The manager has been supported by over £100m spend. It’s the managers decision not to use some of these signings. We have also had 3 very bad performances that have nothing to do with the squad valuations these 3 performances were not good enough and an embarrasment. Arsenal, Burnley and Brighton, not good enough. Those 3 poor games mean 30% of our games mired by poor players performances and that if extrapolated for the season relegates us. DF needs to find out why we have the whole team playing so badly 30% of the time and get it sorted
Id only let Farke go if Eddie Howe becomes available. I dont know where people expect us to be or what control Farke can have on the situation Morning all
Morning everyone with the hand Farke has been dealt i would have folded pre season. Leeds need a striker in January and Aaronson needs to be gone forever not on loan. Brenda is earning a forture doung his duracell bunny impression. Really sick of this pro football and the overpaid players/agents and staff.. Yes staff how much are they being given.
Not sure if Satire or not, but id take him And id stick with him if he took us down too. Saying that, I think id stick with Farke too. The 49rs need to realise what needs to be done to make us competitive I realise how hypocritical this post makes me sound, but I really like how Eddie Howe understands clubs. Think we tried that with a Temu version of him with Brian Mcdermott
I like Eddie Howe mate, i'd definitely take him... just think (not so much on here by the way) the Farke out stuff is a nonsense.. knee jerk reactions when we're comprehensively beaten by a better side! Like that ain't going to happen again whoever we bring in.
Some good news Jeff Stelling reckons Stevie G is holding out For Leeds job becoming available. Id love him to get the gig
you worried Farke might keep us up? Whereas with Stevie G your aspirations of championship football are nailed on?
Irrespective of what the majority on here think and hope, as I mentioned in another post the investors meeting had only 3 items on the agenda future of Daniel FARKE January transfer window Stadium redevelopment.. That all boils down to staying up and how the investors feel is the best way to stay up. Makes no difference what we think or what pundits or journalists think
