If I were Dragan Solak this morning, I would be in despair at the utter failure of my appointments on the football side of the club. The business side is a different matter and appears to be doing okay under Phil Parsons, but, stating the bleeding obvious, if the football side is going to ****, everything else is irrelevant. If I were Dragan Solak this morning I would have everyone involved in the football team, from Johannes Spors down to every player in the first team squad, in the lecture hall at Staplewood and lay it on the line. They are all responsible for the mess they have made of our once proud club. They all have to take responsibility for turning things around or they have to go. No one is exempt, no one is indispensable. Dragan must obviously take his share of the blame, and of course the buck stops with him. If I were him I would be looking for new buyers but that is possibly even riskier than staying put. Who would buy the rancid pile of fetid dingo **** that once was a football club? The rot has to stop, and soon, or the downward spiral will only accelerate. Last time we were in this kind of mess we were saved from liquidation by Markus Liebherr, but his legacy has been destroyed by first his daughter and Ralph Kruger, then by Jisheng Gao, and now by Rasmus Ankersen, Henrik Kraft and the others involved in Sport Republic. If I were Dragan Solak this morning I would be looking at myself in the mirror and shouting, very loudly and in Serbian, “You ****ing idiot!”
I just turned down a Sky Sports interview about my thoughts on Will Still. Kinda regretting it now because I could've publicly called these charlatans out. Sadly I was in a bit of a rush and had somewhere to be. Sigh.
The issue is that they have no long term person at the club to talk about the proud club we used to be. No one has experience of that side of the club. Because they either left or we sold them for a nice lump sum. Only Jack Stephens and Alex McCarthy have any knowledge of what we used to be as a club. But unfortunately their experiences have also been being bang average failures. There is no one who can talk about how good things used to be. They don't know!
Lallana is on the coaching staff. Tiss and Benali are ambassadors and constantly there. Beatts has been in recently. We're about to re-sign Oriol. And those are just the ones off the top of my head. I get what you're saying, but it doesn't quite ring true.
