Always were the bigger Sheffield club for me when growing up and always will be. I'll never forget going to Hillsborough for the FA Cup Semi Final in 92 and how impressed I was with the ground at the time. Hopefully they can get their KLD and really kick on.
Remember going there under Keane when he had us flying, the atmosphere was amazing, love going to Hillsborough I really hope someone comes in for them. I remember the buckets going round at Roker park asking for donations, ultimately it’s the support that suffers 1st then the area, some of these owners are pure trash
Their Owlstalk forum just raised over £10,000 in an hour to pay the team's hotel bill for their next away game, impressive.
Class club. Hope this is the turn for them and they find a good owner who can get them back to the top flight.
Must be chuffed if ya in administration and Ashley comes in! Despite the ****e the mags cried and what the media helped them spout there are a lot worse owners out there as Sheff Wed fans have seen first hand!
Just looked at the twitter comments and its all 'out of the frying pan' ' just when thought it couldn't get any worse'. **** me the magedia did a number on him didnt they?
I think he'd be spot on for them in their current predicament tbh. Would rather have him than some flash Yanks pretending they know what they are doing
Good business man who always knows about running a club! Despite what bull **** was said he was a good owner imo. They were no where near administration under him!
He made some mind bendingly bad decisions personnel wise.....Wise, Kinnear,......Shearer , but their finances was not one of them. He bought the club just before his financial clout was soon to be eclipsed. And I dont blame him pissing away his personal fortune trying to do the impossible and regularly mix in with Top 6. They did well enough by occassionally dipping their toe in.
He got Newcastle in such a great position and in the black that they were an easy sale. Give Rafa money in the Championship Champions League football. Yes relegations but no club had a right to be in the prem. Wednesday could do alot worse than him.
