Wear your poppy

I’m sure you all will be but wear your poppy this year. I think it is more important than ever.

 

I buy a new one every year along with a donation.

 

I got a cafc one.

 

You'll end up doing porridge for that.

 

I think it is so important that we don’t forget. There will come a time soon where anyone who fought in the Second World War will be gone. We must keep their memories and what they did alive.

 

My great grandad's name is on these boards. They commemorate WW1 soldiers who left from this station and never returned. He's one of the thousands with no known grave.

Plenty of charity shops in Orpington High Street mate.

 

The charity shops are the highlight of Orpington High Street.

 

I used to play squash down there 35 years ago, is the Walnuts still there?

 

Yes. There were plans to redevelop it but it included 19 storey flats and so got rejected.

 

Pleased to hear of it.

The nearest leisure centre otherwise would have been in The Glades I'd imagine.
