Oh ok. Not sure how I feel about a Ralph return anyway, not that it seems likely.

Juric will be the next ex-manager to get sacked. Atalanta lost to Udinese yesterday and haven't won in their last six league games. Down in 10th place.

His team's defensive record was pretty abysmal throughout his tenure and when it went wrong it was spectacularly bad.

When you look back at things with Ralph, any manager getting beat 0-9 would likely to be sacked almost immediately.

To double down and it happen again and still not get sacked for those results was utterly baffling.

I am amazed that almost 24 hrs on from losing at home to Preston and near the foot of the table, the club are silent and no mention of Still being sacked.

We are utterly pathetic and an embarrassment of a club.

Ralph carried a lot of favour with the club and fans. He had good success before so that was taken into account

Yeah I’m sure it was taken into account, just how many managers don’t get sacked after that type of results? And Ralph had 2 of them and didn’t get sacked over either of the thrashings.

I just think that is a bit mental looking back at it.

Yeah, we now have to hear about it every time we play Leicester

It's worth pointing out that we did fine on the whole in those seasons and he can't be blamed for Alex Jankewitz getting sent off in the first minute or Bertrand in the 10th or whatever it was.

Your first point I think is valid. Particularly the Leicester 9-0 season. We were excellent second half of that season.

But, really, there's really just no defending it (losing 9-0). Players get sent off early all the time, and yet how often do we see other teams conceding nine? Coaches should drill their players regularly in training to cope with all situations, and going down to ten men is a common one.

True but we did respond well so at least the players did show character after the game if not during it. Unlike this current lot of pathetic ****s.

Whether you lose 9-0 or 1-0, the outcome is the same in terms of points. The only difference is whether you lose confidence and collapse mentally. We didn't.

I'd rather have a manager whose way of playing earned enough points over a season to survive/get promoted but can also be exposed and lead to the odd embarrassing defeat than someone who plays defensive and you just lose 1 or 2 nil each week and then get relegated.

Ralph was also working under Gao, no money into the club, and missing out on our number 1 targets because we couldn't spend until we sold a corresponding player first. Would have been interesting to see what he could have done with the same level of investment (money wise, not actual player quality) SR have put into the club in the last 3yrs during Gaos ownership instead.

This is the problem any manager would have taking over. I have never known a more gutless pathetic excuse for professional footballers in all my years as a Southampton supporter, as to what we’ve all had the displeasure of witnessing over the past 15/16 months.

Well, he did work under SR and it was a ****ing disaster (shock, I know)

He was here summer 2022 when SR invested heavily in the likes of Bazunu, ABK, DCC, Aribo, Edozie, Larios etc

One window of investment after years of nothing, and the spent it all on a bunch of kids.

We all need to move on from Ralph, he did well then ran out of energy and don’t forget, under him we lost a load of games in the last 15 min if I’m not mistaken?

As well as terrible runs of form in the second half of seasons.

Plus his style would be a disaster across an EFL season, we collapsed toward end of every season under him with a less demanding schedule.

Same reason why I don't think Rohl would have worked for us either.

Eh? That’s Ralph’s way of playing, not Röhl’s…
