Yeah I think Neil is much more obtainable than Robins as it'd be a much bigger step up in terms of stature of club plus wage increase.

Millwall are picking up a few injuries now too so might be good timing for him.

Heart says Carsley, head says stupid choice at this moment in time.

Think we need someone who’s been there done it. As much as I’m not his biggest fan, out of that list Brendan Rogers is probably the most experienced. One not from the list that I’d say is well worth a punt is Steve Cooper.

I’m on the fence with ya Carricks & Gerrard’s. Actually think they’re bit better than a lot of pundits & fans give them credit, particularly Stevie G. He gets a hard time but he’s better than I think the ****e he gets is warranted, still sceptical of appointing one of those two though.

I actually can’t deny that I would absolutely love Hassenhuttl back too. He was so good for us on a shoe string & could see him getting a tune out of this current squad & some proper money behind him - board should’ve backed him fully & bought him a striker when they bought the club!!!

Rodgers won't come here, and Cooper has only recently joined Brondby.

Rodgers is also an insufferably smug bellend, and we've had enough of those to last us a lifetime recently.

Why? SR don't have a history of that. Nathan Jones, Russell Martin, Will Still all relatively well known names.

Am currently dancing naked around my office with warpaint on chanting "Hutter or Rose, Hutter or Rose". Don't know if it'll work.

To the contrary: Ruben Selles, Ivan Juric…

And it’ll be Spors identifying the manager so I think a left-field German appointment shouldn’t be ruled out

Haven’t followed Rose career recently but would’ve thought he is way out of league.

    Know nothing about Hutter

Juric, who previously managed Roma. And Selles was AM at the time here so not a great example.

Yeah, Rose is probably a pipe-dream. Hutter is basically Rose ordered from Wish. Austrian striker (hey, we had one of those), Red Bull stable. Won the double at Salzburg, took Monaco to second. So yeah, probably out of reach too, but if you don't ask etc...

Hiring the out of work Ivan Juric when his most notable periods in management were with Hellas Verona and Torino is definitely left-field for a club in a Premier League relegation battle, Tom. If you don’t believe that I don’t know what else to tell you!

It was left field, but not an unknown name, which is the point I was making.

I completely agree. Rodgers and Martin are the same characters. It is all about them.
I would also love RabbitHutch back. He was great for us.

Was Ralph at one of the games the other day? Stating the obvious, was there something behind that?

Juric is very much like Still in the sense that it was the wrong person to appoint at the time. I think if we had binned Martin after promotion and appointed Juric in the summer before last season we probably would’ve fared better than we did overall, but likely would’ve had issues about the players crying about Martin so hard to really say. His style of play was much more suited to a promoted side I think than Martins

    Anyway irrelevant really

No, he's a mate of one of the Bristol City coaches and was invited by him.

Yep, Craig Fleming. Was on Ralph’s staff at Saints but now an assistant to Gerhard Struber in Bristol

Hiring Ralph just means bringing in another manager who is wedded to one particular system. He ran out of ideas, even with a Premier League squad at his disposal. Got sacked after a few months by Wolfsburg. He had his moment when gegenpressing was the new shiny thing of European football, but I just don't think he has much up his sleeve beyond that.

Used to frustrate the hell out of me how we would always run out of steam in the second half under him. Plus he was massively unpopular with the players.
