Fair point. I wonder if he will improve that with age, because you are right that it is his biggest weakness. Strikes me as someone that needs a strong presence and experienced head beside them like he had with Bednarek. He'd probably look unbelievable alongside someone like Fonte. Which again brings us back to the issue of not having a single natural leader in that squad.
https://not606.com/threads/southampton-st-marys-1500-hrs-1-11-2025.420390/ You look a team devoid of confidence, see you att the end of the season, by the way we had three years of that type of performance under Ryan Lowe, I know what you are going through.
Agreed. The lack of leaders has been an issue for years, a good team has multiple all over the pitch and we don't have a single one. On that point I've never been a fan of the 'bring an old player' back shouts that we regularly get but I'd definitely see if Romeu fancies a contract until the end of the season as I feel he's someone who will set the standards in the dressing room. Whether THB improves his mental fortitude in time is hard to say really but I don't see it happening here. It doesn't bode well that this is the first real tough period of his career and he's reacted so badly to it though. I've a suspicion that his England call up didn't help here and he maybe thought he had 'made it' but then got brought back down to earth.
Hope you enjoyed the game, mate. Good luck for the rest of the season! Your lot helped bang another nail into the coffin of our latest clueless manager, so I personally am grateful. I cheered when your second goal went in and pissed a lot of muppets off around me.
Good point. Scienza Jander Fellows Charles Jelert Which in fairness to Spors is largely his stuff, without also failing to recognise his mess with no striker/Still.
Robinson? I thought he was one of our better players yesterday. Funny thing about your list is I feel some of them are the most likely to move on.
I’d add Armstrong as well. Feel like his time here is done, he’s not a striker and isn’t the same player he was a couple of seasons ago.
Can we get this mush in just to do a half time team talk? Reckon some players these days would probably actually cry
The funny thing is, these three are the three that are seen as "leaders" too. Thing about leaders, is they can be the leaders of trouble too.
Assuming fellows scienza and Azaz want out I would keep: - jander - Edwards - Charles - Matsuki - Robinson - manning - Armstrong
Depending on how the rest of his season goes and how much impact he has, but I'd like to think Robinson might be a possibility. The rest, yeah not happening.
It is obvious there will be changes in January. I think we will move the likes of Edosie , Downes , Stephens and maybe Armstrong. Downs will be loaned out too. I would not be surprised if some of the summer signings moved on too. I can see Ross Stewart retiring at some point. I would bring back Aribo and maybe elevate him to captain.
