Perfect set of results for us yesterday mind, top and bottom. Dunno what the best result is in the clash of our title rivals City & Bournemouth today, I suppose anything but a Bournemouth win allows us the opportunity to go second on Monday. Jokes aside, and it’s been said, stunning what Iraola is doing at Bournemouth, again, after losing star players. The bloke is the real deal and they are so good to watch, maybe the team after us I like watching the most. On us, I’m hoping the results against our lower half ‘rivals’ give us a bit of added freedom because a win now and that gap to 17th is becoming an absolute chasm. Wonderful days.
Great day yesterday. Good results in Prem and FA Cup. Given my North East beginnings and now North West (16 years in NE and now 35 down here) I follow the teams closest to me. Great wins for Gateshead and Stockport but what a win for Macclesfield. My dream of 3rd round tie away to Macclesfield or Stockport goes on.
Fancied the Heed all day and took them on my acca at 6/1. Was a good day, Christmas is on Gateshead (and Brighton, Chelsea & Derby…)
They are absolutely flying this season Shields, but should never be favourites v a league side. Can absolutely see them winning mind and I’m looking forward to watching it. They get a canny little payday off TNT as well which is great for them.
I’m honestly so up for it for them mate. Would love a scenario when they pulled out us or the Mags in round 3. Cracking little club and they looking for a new owner, after how brilliantly the Thompsons have developed the club a shop window that attracted the right buyers would be brilliant. Shields could easily sustain a League 2 club.
Man City v Bournemouth… Think we’ll be closer to Bournemouth than Man City come May so similar to last nights game, home win please…
You do know though don't you Bournemouth, in all likelihood, will finish above us as will Man City. Realistically Sunderland won't be finishing 2nd so this may be our only chance to sit up there for a week. Monday could be a special night.
