I remember seeing us 3-0 up at home to Bury then ending up drawing 3-3 so I'm not counting my chickens. (We have six chickens, if you are interested).
Well that was refreshing, highly entertaining and what a great result. Had this down as 3-2 on the prediction league but I will settle for 3-0.
We were saying before that a 0-0 would be a good result - a point against a high-flyer but more importantly a clean sheet. Baah's strength and Louza ghosting in (poor from their midfield), leaving Jezza to put in a super ball was another mistake. Good finish from Luca, timing better than the touch but it was enough. I don't think they did much wrong on Doumbia's. Super finish.
3 goals , 3 points and a clean sheet ! Excellent goals and counter attack play . Some very solid defensive play too .

That is what we could/should have done last Saturday We are looking more and more like a team now and the teams at the top are faltering Edit How far in front of us are the teams that came down from the Prem last season
It would seem that K9 has been awarded the goal, but he looked offside No wonder the Borough players went mental, made no difference tho we would still have won Makes a nice change when **** decisions work in our favour
The first two goals reminded me of when we had Cally and Barnes on the wings. The one thing I found interesting about our 'long ball' game is that for both the first two goals the wingers, Baah and Ngakia, received the ball in our half. The second one was a square pass across the pitch.
We played on the break and it really suited our attacking players with their pace and power . The defence had to work hard and stay in shape whilst letting Middlesbrough having most of the ball without threatening too much .
I remember in the late sixties when Ken Furphy called that His contain and destroy tactic Under GT we did not play around at the back but the counter attack was Get the ball to Ian Bolton and he would hit a perfect pass onto the toes of Cally or Barnes and then the opposition would panic
There is also guile required in the counter attacks. When Louza ran into the box for the first goal he had two defenders with him. All three were running hard but when they reached the edge of the penalty area Louza slowed down. The defenders didn't. Tis gave Louza the space he needed to score. Obviously it needed a good cross from Baah.
