Much better pressing and aggression mostly. Villa making massive errors under the press

 

Mcginn getting "vengeance" for onana dive.

 

All in all a good half. Our pressing game seems to be back but villa are tactically pretty kind opposition tonight. They do look like scoring when they do beat the press though.

thought Mo has looked sharper tonight than any other game this season .Mamadashvilli has made some important saves when Villa were on top but we have gradually taken a measure of control but really need the 2nd goal ..

 

When was the last time we scored first in a game before tonight? Think we would have totally fallen apart if Villa had got the opener.

Deserved the goal as we were actually putting them under pressure, pushing them back and harrying them on the ball. Displaying energy that's been really lacking over the last 7 games

 

Terrible pass for Ekitike though at the end when he should have put Hugo through

I dont trust our midfield to manage the game well enough so we need more goals.

There has been glimpses of old Mo tonight dribbled past some players for a change but then over run the ball or produced a bad pass

 

It could be any score here.

Passive play resulted in us seeing our post hit, a deflection almost got them a gaol and marmadashvilli made a decent save as well.

We've had loads of good positions we have wasted with the final ball then gifted a goal

We certainly need to continue this effort and we need to get the next goal.

Theres no just sit off here if they come.put passive after that first half it'll.be a really poor look for slot.
