If that didn't, perhaps this will do the trick.

It's the reaction of someone hearing it for the first time and that's funny ...

... the poignant part is how the conflict just never stops.

Yet, despite all that we can still be part of humanity and have hope.

No one brings this song to life better than this fella in my opinion.

Shocked to see Sam Rivers has passed away. He was only 48.

    https://www.fourfourtwo.com/team/ar...ith-the-fixture-list-theyre-about-to-find-out

This is another article where you can clearly see the "journalist" has done minimal research into his subject, in this case us. Recycled stuff about last season and how far behind Sheffield United we finished, minutes from defeat in the play office final yada yada yada... Then it's how we've played no one so far. It's pretty clear to me that this journo has never watched us this season, or much last season to be honest, it's his reliance on stats that show it. Dismissing our result against Villa, who today beat Man City and are currently 8th in the EPL because they had a poor start and hadn't scored a goal until then. Then that we beat Brentford (who deservedly beat reigning champions Liverpool last night, currently now in 11th). I know this article was written before the weekends fixtures and our win against world club champions Chelsea, so it's certainly not dated well, but to me it shows a few things.
1- that the standard of journalism is getting worse. There's no in depth research, just quoting stats and carrying a narrative.
2- that it's likely to be done for clicks and get a reaction from our fans, generating more money from adverts.
3- that because we're newly promoted we are therefore "unfashionable" and not deserving of full attention yet. This can be a good thing for us as we can slip under the radar and be underestimated a bit, but the flip side is that if we've been written off by journos they're likely to double down and come out with negative stuff about us to save face for possibly being wrong about us.

I don't think it's any surprise we're being underestimated right now, it's clear that outside a handful of clubs, mostly due to their media relationships, that sports journalists have little to no knowledge or interest in different clubs. A few lazy stories fitting presumed narratives and that's it. There's no look at things in depth or nuance, now quoting stats is used to pad out articles or back up whatever drivel they come out with.

Stagecoach buses may be extra unreliable in sunderland for a few days. On the north east bus message board it says (about the wheatsheaf depot):

"Believe one of the chargers set alight and knocked the electricity out that runs the diesel pumps and the gas pumps, portable chargers en route apparently but for a service of some shape or form to run tomorrow they have sent some yutongs down to stockton for charge." (Yutongs are the new electric buses)

Watching this hurricane hit Jamaica. Bloody hell the weather can be brutal at times.

I have been to Jamaica and I absolutely love the place. Really special atmosphere and people. I hope so much the damage is limited for that beautiful place and people.

Few years back we were caught up in Hurricane Irma in Orlando
The lead up was more frightening that the hurricane, they have to give you the worst predictions, hopefully that’s what they are doing here with Jamaica but it does look pretty grim

I don't suppose that many will be interested, but I've just received an email about last night's RAWA AGM, saying:

    Dear RAWA Member

On the 30th October we held our 2025 AGM. Thank you to all members who attended.

We're enjoying great times supporting SAFC at the moment, on and off the pitch - long may it continue. At times like this the fanbase are enjoying being fans, and not worrying about issues with ownership, the governance of the club, and generally, how the Club is being run. It doesn't mean that the RAWA Trust should sit back, and put up our feet, though. In fact, it's a good time to be pro-active.

To that end, the AGM was really useful, not just in satisfying our constitutional demands, like agreeing the annual accounts, and voting in The Board, but also to hear directly from members about their thoughts about how SAFC is being run and the current match day experience. Again, thank you to all of you who contributed your ideas and thoughts.

As for The Board - Vice Chair David Rose was re-elected, and a new Communications Manager was elected. Matthew Lounton will now take on management of the newsletter, website and social media. Congratulations Matthew !

The Board are looking for a Membership Manager to look after the administration and growth of Trust members, and we'll have more information about that soon.

Best wishes everyone, as we all hope for another good performance and hopefully 3 points under the lights, against Everton.

    Kind Regards

    RAWA

Happened to be in Home Bargains the morning of Sept 1st-- staff doing xmas shelves. I don't spend much there , but decided they wouldn'y have another penny from me til Jan 1st-- they aren't telling me I have to think Xmas for 3 1/2 months before.
And when the retail trade claim that it's '' in response to customer demand'' -- bollocks-- no one has written /called them to say they need it.

Interesting that mate, I have always loved Christmas but over the last few years by the time it comes around I find myself weary of it, you’ve just nailed why, it’s started far too early by retail and even on the telly now, our lass has been watching Christmas films on a channel that plays them around the clock since early October!! When I ask for it to be turned of I get called Scrooge, December 1st is enough time to start the festivities

All the shops put out stuff from September or even the last week or so of August. As soon as Back to School sells through, the festive stuff comes out. It's shared with Halloween but once that's gone, it'll be full on Christmas.

People complain about it being too early, but on the flip side, people are buying it as there's plenty of stock going through the stores.

The Easter Eggs start arriving mid-December. As soon as Christmas sells through, the Easter Eggs will be out!

The lamest of arguments in my opinion.

'Failing' to join in with something doesn't make you less off a person.

To me it's like the difference between joyful and spontaneous chants, at Sunderland games, and the relentless tedious drumming at Palace, etc.

I've always believed, and still do, that there's a touch of magic about Christmas ...

... a constant stream of raucous advertising doesn't make it more special.

My young lady has announced that all Christmas presents have been purchased.
    That's Christmas done.
Well apart from the food, the odd decoration and of course any last minute presents that just happen to catch her eye.

It's a good job Santa Claus drops off a big bag of presents a couple of days before Christmas and all i have to do is wrap them. He's a clever fella that Santa as the bag always contains exactly what my young lady wants. :emoticon-0102-bigsm
