Yeah very unlikely but even if it was Lallana at least it would give him a decent chance to get a couple of wins.
This is where I now stand. Still has had enough chance to do something, to show something, nothing is working, tactics, starting 11, subs, nothing. The players bar a few, don't seem to give a ****. Even if the manager is out of his depth, surely you can pass to another player, that is not a tactical issue, these are professional players who should be able to do the basics. Will another manager, even a really experienced one get anything from this lot? I think Still probably needs to go, but I am not sure who will get a tune out of these players. They should all be busting a gut out there, be proud of being picked and show us what they can do, very few of them are doing that! I think all the name calling needs to stop, some of you lot act like ****s at times but if I was to call you out you would ban me, so bit double standards really. The guy may well be out of his depth, but many on here said he would be a great appointment so must have thought he had enough about him. Maybe, just maybe it's not all his fault and therefore how can he be a ****? For me the season may as well be a right off, so put Lallana in charge, he at least is a big name with a load of experience(albeit as a player). If he can't improve us then we deserve to go down as the problem is more deep rooted than most think. Then in January try to ship more players out and then in the summer do the same and we will eventually get to a point where we have nobody from the previous championship campaign or the premier league years, then we can have a team full of players proud to be here, only then would a Will Still get anything from his players.
The only way Rosenior is an option is if he is desperate to move back to the UK, and even then if that is common knowledge he will have better offers It will likely be someone the majority have never heard of. Hopefully Spors gets it right this time as he clearly got it wrong with Still. Clearly a decent manager based on what he did in France but definitely not the right manager for the situation we found ourselves in during the summer
Not really his fault. He’s been offered an incredible opportunity, which tbf is fabulous. That added to his wife’s situation & wanting to be back in UK, how could he resist. Blame is fairly & squarely on SR’s shoulders, again. In fairness, he’s out of his depth with this problematic squad but again that’s something that SR should have realised how challenging it would be & therefore the type of manager required.
I think Libby summed it up perfectly “He isn’t the problem, but isn’t the solution either” © Libby 1st November 2025
What length of ban would I receive if I do? I'm tempted as it might be more fun than visiting this forum!
There was a lot of purple prose written in here about Still and Spors over the summer. Seem to recall LTL and No. 7 being positive. However, i dont think anyone anticipated a relegation battle. I thought mid table was most likely. In my opinion the continuous poor decisions rest with SR. I cannot see a return to the PL ever happening with them. They do not have the expertise to run Sourhampton. I can see issues like season ticket sales forcing the issue with them next season. No ine cindidence in them. Whenever rhey make a mistake , the consequences seem severe. .
With Martin I was desperate for him to go as I had misguided belief that they would replace him with someone who could turn the season around. I don’t care now, sack him, keep him. They can all **** off.
Yup, I agree, a sacking is not exciting news. It's poor if he stays and poor if he goes. Makes no difference really.
The difference is that we have a very good squad for this league, so you don't need as good as manager to turn things around. In the PL we would have needed a pochettino-esque replacement. Whereas now we just need someone half decent and they could get us up. The fact Martin got us promoted last time should prove that.
I was relatively positive about him, because there was no reason not to be (though obviously accept that time and evidence has shown he's not up to this particular job). But in my defence (not that it's needed) I was always the biggest champion for Danny Röhl for ages and ages and ages. He was always the one I wanted.
Yep, nailed it. November and our season is almost done already. The only 'excitement' is seeing if someone can come in and avoid consecutive relegations. Utterly depressing
