As I said, I don't blame fans for turning on the players at the end. They need to know how shocking they have been.

Not sure you read my reply as I intended.

Just heard the post match interview on Solent and Still sounded like a defeated man just answering questions with a monosyllabic, "I dunno".
I can't imagine his team talks to be very inspiring, we need someone to come in right away and lead us out of this rut before the decline is terminal.

I was looking for players “out on their legs” at the whistle? None looked even tired. Mentally they are shot & WS just doesn’t have the gonads to push them.

I think the reason we had so many lose passes was the gap between the few attackers and the rest of the team. Once Preston started pressing high we couldn't find a way to get the ball forward quickly without slide rule passes which are low percentage. We just don't occupy the opposition defence.

Manning got forward and put in loads of crosses some good ones but no one gambles.

I was sat near the dugout today. Was interesting watching the 2 benches.

Preston had a very strong backroom staff; vocal, demanding, passionate, clearly talking with each other etc. Ours was the polar opposite.

You do realise that we’re 4th from bottom with one of those in admin. We’re not pushing for top 6. We are ****ing miles away with this manager.

He was better in the second half, when he was put back to LB. But in the first half, as a LWB, he was horrendous.

I’d get the bloke up who seems to think we’re brilliant.

I was saying even with a anew manager, top 6 is probably the absolute best outcome we can hope for.

The latest chapter of "worst ever Saints subs" was written today.

I don't think anything will top the Stephens-Scienza sub, but Downs for Downes was up there in the horror stakes. Not only did it put us down to ten men, but it also meant that we had no midfield and lost any semblance of organisation or shape. As bad as we were, we were still in that game until the 72nd minute. A win wasn't even out of the question. But the game ended for us with that sub.

I’m going to be less polite than that, it ended when they scored their first goal. There were simply too many unforced errors right across the pitch, and, yes a couple of brighter moments but honestly really the poorest Saturday afternoon match I’ve seen against an average team. I simply saw no difference between this team and the one that got relegated last season. It seems Russell Martin’s methods etc are still in place.

Wouldn't surprise me if the club put out feelers for a new manager now, but wait until the International break to sack Still.

I would suggest that is gross incompetence/negligence if they’re only putting out the feelers now.

But this is SR in charge, so you are probably correct.
