Might be wrong but don't think he plays up front for Spain. He's not a striker - though he can do a job at times.
Declan Rice would be my MotM. He's been such an important figurehead in the middle of the pitch, making huge tackles and interceptions, snuffing the ball out, redistributing possession to try and start attacks or calm the tempo down when Burnley have pressed us. In a disappointing second half from Arsenal, Rice has been very good across both halves.
Don't want to scapegoat him, but he's really been awful since coming on and has been a huge reason in why Burnley have been encouraged to get at us. The ball hasn't stuck to him and he's offered no presence whatsoever.
I think we just changed the tactics in the 2nd half - just killed the game. I'd have loved us to keep going, but I never mind a 2-0 away win with no goals or shots on target conceded.
FT. 0-2. Top class first half performance, mediocre second half performance. However, Burnley still didn't have an attempt on target and it's yet another clean sheet and 3 points for us . I'm getting way too used to this . A solid away win at an awkward ground before our (what we expect to be) title rivals play - currently 9 points ahead of City, 10 ahead of Liverpool as it stands. Onwards and upwards .
Excellent result. First half performance was mint. Second half we coasted and didn't play well. 3 pts. Jon done. Any away win in the PL is good. All time record for consecutive games not conceding is 8. We are on a 7 game streak right now.
Don't know if Saka is carrying an injury but he's not been at the races the last couple of games. Gyokeres after the game looked okay but would like to hear from Artera.
Update from Artera: On Gyokeres coming off: "In the first half was one of the best he's played with us. He felt something muscular so we have to wait to learn the extent of that. *fingers crossed
Would have better if it was the elbow to the face. Needed to stay fit until Havertz is back. Merino as we saw today plays at an extreme swing of being ****e or great.
Yeah - definitely better upfront for us. One of the best midfielders at international level though. My problem with him in midfield in the PL is that he looks slow off the mark, so late to close down, and not creative enough.
