Totally agree. It's the person at the top (no pun intended) who has to keep the ship afloat, shoulder the blame and be ruthless when necessary. If those below aren't performing then they have to improve or go. If Topp can't be that person then he has to appoint someone who is or he has to go.
Facts of live! if Daka plays we will not stand a chance of winning a game! please someone tell me i am wrong!
You are not wrong. Guy has no confidence. When will people realise Hamza is not a full back. Carranza needs a run of games as do James and Ramsey. I was taught as a kid not to let a long ball bounce but Faes does it time and again. The amount of space we gave Hull players was unreal. The two Hull goal scorers were both unmarked. A pitiful first half, which only improved with the introduction of Ramsey and Monga. We looked a complete shambles in that first half.
I wouldn't argue with any of that. Why not use Ricardo as a proper right back and put a proper midfielder in midfield?
When you see Ayew starting as centre-forward, you know the likelihood of a goal is much reduced ... hopefully Marti works this out soon
Who do we play instead? We must have the most benign strike force in the league. We’re sliding down the table now, and with a possible points deduction we could be in a spot of bother. Maybe Carranza just needs a goal to get him going, Ayew and Daka are obviously not prolific goal scorers. Build up play is fine, just in front of goal were totally ineffective.
I'd give Carranza a run of games for sure - need to sell Daka in the January window (and a few others)...
Who knows - but I don't blame him for embracing a new / last challenge ... the biggest failure for me was not bringing an actual striker in during the summer - haven't given up on Carranza... but Daka's confidence is blown and Ayew just isn't a striker...
I can understand him fancying a season or two on the continent, especially If they’re willing to pay him top dollar too.
Happy with that line-up, particularly in attack (Monga's been sick all week and not even on the bench)...
Painful watch ... Mavididi having a nightmare currently... not convinced that Vestergaard's header would have beaten the keeper but Mavididi's lack of awareness of offside was still shockingly bad ... and the less said about his failure to convert from 5 yards out in the second half the better... Soumare with a disastrous, needless, out stretched leg gifted Blackburn the first goal completely against the run of play ... but where was the call from Vestergaard? Not for the first time this season we ended up with too many 'forwards' on the pitch in the last quarter as we chased the game ... hopelessly congesting the play in the last third and getting in each others way whilst there was little creativity on show... Feel sorry for Carranza - abject service throughout. How about this for a radical idea, Marti ... think about your wingers periodically switching wings and just getting to the byline to put crosses in? ... if you need a training video just play back what the Blackburn wing back did to Mavididi and Kristiansen (powder puff defending and competing) to set up their second ... pulled back for their centre forward... now that's ground breaking eh?
Worryingly I’ve got to the point where I’m not bothered the results anymore. Cifuentes doesn’t spark any enthusiasm in me, the signings in the last couple of seasons have been mostly atrocious and we’ve got a points deduction looming for trying to compete with the ‘establishment’. I enjoyed league one last time we were there, I ticked off a few new grounds, and we had a manager in Pearson that demanded commitment, plus we won quite a few games.
All of this brings back 'happy' memories of Peter Taylor and Frank McLintock. Is there a budding Jimmy Bloomfield out there somewhere?
