on the way to the ground against leeds when my brother in law phoned me & said have you heard the news that there is no points deduction & we were up, just got off train so new nothing, fantastic news & heard massive roars from ground walking down s.africa road, f**k**g magic & great day & drink afterwards.
the best bit of 2011? Simple: 2011 itself. All of the above if said to me on a stand alone comment would get the accolade.
Routeledge winner at Reading....right in front of me; Miller's last minute winner v Leicester; Taarabt's goals....especially the winner v Cardiff; Hearing the news, outside the ground, that there was to be no points deduction and me, my two sons, my brother and his son doing a weird group hug/dance whist screaming our heads off; Adel lifting the Championship trophy at LR; All of the Chelsea game, especially the goal, sendings off and the singing and shear joy at the final whistle.....ALL PRICELESS MEMORIES!!
Its sweet and sour for me I agree with Northolt re the signing as every QPR fan was on a high but at that time we all hoped we would keep our happy ship ... We didn't and it's hurts when AT gets all the blame for being called talentless by his new captain who in fact is a legend in his own lunchbox . I wish both the tits could get on
Some great memories there fellas. All are brilliant. It has indeed been a great year. Hopefully, there will be one or two special moments left, starting Sunday. I would love it if we beat them.
Out digging the garden, just before the Leeds match, getting the jobs done before I could go back inside and settle down in front of the TV. Mate from down the road (also QPR fan) calls on my mobile and asks if I've heard the news.... points deduction and relgation to league one..... stunned silence..... fork almost through shed window...... "only joking!!". Sheer deperation to ultimate joy in three seconds (who needs friends!). Followed close second by atmosphere and stunning goals at Cardiff. Sat at away end controlling all emotions, watching the rest of you having the time of your lives across the stadium, awesome,.
Routlege goal v Cov after Taarabt's sublime pass The news coming through before the final match, and Adel lifting that trophy Watching Sky News on 17th Aug about 10 to nine when Jim White came on with breaking news that Tony Fernandes was going to announce the takeover the following day, and we had bid for Scott Parker!........saved!!
People are cheating by naming multiples of course. If you are really looking for a single moment it surely must be the final whistle against the scum. I still wake up smiling some days when I think about that. Or perhaps those first few minutes when every Chelsea touch was met by a barrage of abuse, or when red was shown to Drogbha, or when Terry and Lampard were flayling away at the ref like brats... Carlsberg don't do local derby victories but if they did...
have to agree with people saying ishy millers goal vs Leicester.I was in a room full of friends (none of which are hoops) me jumping round like a kangaroo on acid! I knew then we could do it.
So many great moments. For me the top threee have to be winning the Championship, followed by the departure of The Goons/arrival of TF and Amit, followed by the Chelsea win. But a special mention has to go to the Routledge goal away at Reading when we won with 10 men. I was in The Crown and Sceptre watching it and the place went absolutely mental. That moment made me feel that it just might be our year
Ok, in all seriousness, When Routledge scored vs Reading. I was in a pub full of QPR fans, and the reaction was one i would never forget.
I understand that but I still don't get why us winning things would hurt you, being deadly serious here.
Do you think Chelsea like to see Arsenal or Spurs win things? Do you think Man City like to see Man Utd win things? Do you think Celtic like to see Rangers win things? All of the above vice versa. etc etc. District, come on, you are an intelligent guy. This one doesn't take much intelligence to work out.
