Brighton and Hove Albion v Leeds Utd
    Saturday 1st November@15:00 | Amex Stadium

Leeds United make the trip to the south coast this weekend looking to overcome torrid recent history as they go up against a Brighton side battling a crippling injury list. The Whites have rarely enjoyed their visits to the Amex Stadium, where their struggles have become something of a hoodoo. Brighton have remarkably kept a clean sheet in each of their last seven home league meetings with Leeds, the longest run without conceding to any opponent in their history.

The Whites have never gone eight consecutive away league games without scoring against any team; a record they are desperate to avoid extending when they step out by the seaside. Daniel Farke’s men head into the fixture buoyed by some encouraging fitness updates. The Leeds boss has confirmed positive news regarding Willy Gnonto who could finally return to the squad after 5 games out.

Gabriel Gudmundsson remains a slight doubt after picking up a knock in the 2–1 win over West Ham United, yet Farke is hopeful his left-back will be available following a late fitness test. Should he not make it, James Justin is expected to step in. The return of captain Ethan Ampadu, Pascal Struijk, and winger Noah Okafor from illness and injury last weekend also adds depth to Farke’s options as Leeds look to build momentum in their Premier League campaign.

Brighton, by contrast, are facing mounting injury concerns at a crucial stage of the season. Fabian Hürzeler side fell 2–0 at Arsenal on Wednesday night in the League Cup on the back of a 4-2 drubbing at Old Trafford last weekend, and will have to regroup quickly for their second match in less than 72 hours. The Seagulls are without Solly March, a player who has caused Leeds problems in the past, as well as defender Adam Webster and England U21 defender Jack Hinshelwood.

Kaoru Mitoma, Joel Veltman, and Brajan Gruda are all doubtful, leaving De Zerbi with major selection headaches. One player who will definitely feature is Georginio Rutter, the former Leeds star now settled on the south coast. His performance, and the reception he receives, will be intriguing subplots in a fixture already rich in narrative.

They haven’t been beaten at home, some great wins and a couple of draws. Be good to get a point so an optimistic 1-1

They haven't kept a clean sheet in the league. 3 home draws against the promoted sides last season.

This could be an interesting one....

We need to capitalize on the result against West Ham last weekend.

Brighton are coming off 2 straight defeats against Scum and Arsenal in the league and the cup, respectively.

I don't think Brighton have kept a clean sheet all season. I've got Dunk in my fantasy team, and he's not had clean sheet points all season. I dropped him to the bench last week and sacked off Ben White for Gabriel.

Maybe we can take advantage of Hurzeler and De Zerbi arguing over the head coach position and the tactics they want to play <cheers>

They've got a leaky defence, but on the other hand, we've got strikers who can't score in Amsterdam

Tough game. Expecting a loss but hoping that we can grasp on to a draw with a bit of luck. A win would be the best win of the season and by a distance.

Today is the 10th game and even if we lose Farke should still be in his job as besides Arsenal and another garbage performance against Burnley I think we have been competing and should have had at least 3 more points. So as I say 11 points from 10 games aint as bad as it could be so he gets to live up to Xmas for me

Got a good feeling about today you know. I think our team is better than we think. 0-1 or 1-2 to us today.

Well Patrick Vieira has been sacked again so is back on the market. Can’t remember if it was you but one of the posters wanted him some time back.

Don't understand why sacking Farke is even a daily talking point. He's done a fantastic job at Leeds. I'd keep him even if relegated.

it’s an utter nonsense - even the ‘terrible’ Burnley game we lost to one piece of bad defending and a worldly other than that we outplayed them comprehensively. It’s lack of quality and luck that’s the problem not the manager

Feels like Brighton are more Vulnerable this season. But every time we play them I feel we’re in with a chance then we give a very flat looking performance and lose with a wimper. Let’s hope this one is different.
