In the Bosra Sham Stakes I like the look of Spicy Marg. She is top rated by the Racing Post and near the top on official ratings. Spicy Marg has been highly tried this season and it was no surprise to see her out of her depth in the Nunthorpe. She ran quite well in Group 3 company last time, looking as if 5F was a bit sharp. Back up to 6F now she is drawn about the middle in box 8 so should have options if the field splits.Dropped in class to Listed company this is easier than several tasks she has faced this year. I expect her to give a good account in a race that seems to lack strength in depth. 2.12 Newmarket SPICY MARG 4/1 I expect she will start shorter.

I see that following the Horses In Training Sale the 3YO Fantasy World will be transferring from Kingsclere to Seven Barrows after being sold for 600,000 gns. Cor blimey at first glance that does look, to my eyes, to be a huge sum paid for this gelding - I'd even go as far as to say overpayment and then some!!! Still maybe I'm speaking to soon - as they say round my way if anyone can Lieutenant Henderson can. I said yesterday that an associate of WP Mullins was the underbidder on White Birch and that scenario has occurred again - this time re Gran Descans who was sold out of Beckhampton for 425,000 gns. No jumping for Gran Descans as he's bound for the Middle East after this purchase. Here's a pair of questions for the membership. What would White Birch and Gran Descans have achieved in the NH sphere??? And what will Fantasy World??? Although I'll also point out that they are, at this stage, talking dual purpose re the latter - pretty similar to how they were talking about Palladium this time last year (and we won't dwell on that...).
I can't help thinking we are getting into the realms of silly money for geldings (if indeed that is what they are - can't be bothered to check).
Fantasy World is a gelding but Gran Descans and White Birch aren't. Although if old boy Osborne is to be believed (there is a first for everything) then the latter will be gelded sooner rather than later.
Ryan Moore's son Toby up on the fav here - never realised he had a son that is race riding. Meanwhile over at Down Royal, I am really looking forward to seeing Rome Coolio over fences in the 15:47 race.
