I would wxpect it to have seriously limited their long-term prospects of staying with us under O'Neill. Catts was always likley to follow Bruce again in my opinion and Bendtner has done nothing to indicate any real desise to play for the club... Get rid of as soon as we can without damaging the squad. I think it's an indication of their attitude to the club - which is poor. Mind you this is vandalism if true it's not like punching a lass or stubbing a cigar out in someone's eye!
reg i am afraid wind up or not there are proffesional men and have to conduct them selves correctly and imo they have to go
Er yes. If you read what you wrote you said "However, when will our players learn that by going there, they will always find Mags very willing to wind them up and get them into bother if possible..." Which infers that they had been wound up by Newcastle fans. Take your anti-NUFC glasses off and just accept that two of your players have got THEMSELVES into a bit of bother with the police.
What I said is that by going there, they will always find Mags willing to wind them up...This is not saying that this was the case in this particular incident, as the fact is that I don't know the full circumstances regarding this particular incident.
I know what you mean Billy. Most of us would crawl a mile over broken glass to be a Premiership footballer, and would certainly appreciate the priveldged lifestyle that it gives you. However, most of these guys have never had to worry about paying the elctricity bill or never had to work a 12 hour shift in a job that they hate. They don't live in the real world and think that they can just do as they like. The academy players at Southampton aged 12 don't even have to clean their own boots FFS.
Simonbh7 FYI You're mixing up infers and implies (not intending to be a dick just reminding you) - but I agree that (if guilty) they've no one to blame but themselves and are knob-heads for both drinking in Newcastle (as Sunderland players) and being vandals
Yeesh, just when you thought you could start looking up a pigeon ****s on your face. I thought Bendtner was going to be a smart signing for you guys but he's making a right mess of it.
His hearts not in it YV big disappointment but it's obvious he thinks he can do better... players come and go but the clubs go on.
I remember years ago waiting to get into Walkers nightclub & that horrible **** Kieth Gellespie marched strait to the front & demanded the bouncers let him straight in. He was told to queue like everyone else then cam out with the old do you know who I am routine. What a knob.
Gellespie "Do you know who I am?" Bouncer "Can somebody call social services - there's a lad here doesn't know who he is."
I totally agree, what pisses me off is that footballers in genereal (not just these 2) don't seem to give a **** or feel that they have any duty to the fans or to the club in behaving themselves.
If it turns out that they are both guilty of wanton vandalism, then they deserve any punishment that the law dishes out...However, before I know the full circumstances..ie: had they been goaded, attacked or provoked into these actions? In other words, until I know the full facts, I will not judge them... I hope this makes my position more clear to Simon et al...
TBH I couldn't give a **** about provocation. Smashing up cars of innocent people who are probably trying to scrape money together to give their kids a Christmas. These are highly paid professionals FFS. There is no excuse for these alleged actions. If they have done it I hope they never play again. It might make them realize the value of things.
If this is proved to be the case then I agree...All I'm saying is that I don't know any of the facts at this present time..
This doesn't look good to me. The Chronicle article is dated 16th December and says they were interviewed "yesterday", i.e. on the 15th. For an incident which happened on 6th December. if the police have taken nine days to interview them, it sounds like they've been going through CCTV footage and identified Cattermole and Bendtner from that. And if that's the case, a charge seems almost certain. Oh, dear.
