A star who couldn't tackle!

 

It's BS that he couldn't tackle but, going along ing with your angle, there have been plenty of players that can't tackle that have been very good players. You don't actually need to be able to tackle, you can position yourself in a way that forces them into someone else or options to pass.

 

No he wouldn't.

Klopp wasnt going to pay him either.

The sad reality is hes got his chances and passes back and drifts through games.

Hes better than carvalho cos he works but its the same issue.

You.cannot drift though games not really contributing and expect to be picked by managers who's job is on the line.

Its too easy just lay it off and elliott has fallen into that pattern in his career.

 

You just hate all creative players

 

What creativity?

Elliott got every support in every chance he got from me and he mostly disappointed bumy being passive and failing to take the game on and try and actually create.

He spent 90% of his time laying the ball off.

 

Good impact player and could do with that right now to be honest, but proved time and time again that he just isn't up to it as a starter

 

That's fair.

He didn't get.many chances and slot really didn't fancy him.but he never grabbed the chances.

Under klopp the lad got lots of chances, especially in his last season but the reality is that they were to rest other or after the league was gone.

It's never easy when you had prime salah or Szoboszlai to compete with but when the chances come.you have to be positive.

Slot hasnt fancied hikmone bit but the irony is hes bought a German who's as physically weak and has no.more pace.

 

It's not that long ago that he was being hailed as one of the most creative young players in Europe. Ljinders compared him to Iniesta ( yes I know) saying "he thinks like a creative midfielder". He had that awful confidence sapping injury and will never be a pacey player but it's clear that he has a creative side to his game, Slot just didn't fancy him so we didn't get to see it progress.

 

Yes the injury really affected him.

Absolutely I put the mentality down to a bit of that for sure. His pressing really became a get kind of close and let them pass it off if I cant intercept it.

But a lot of the issues for me is dropping too deep then just passing it straight back where it came from as a form of being involved.

It takes a leave player to want the ball but it takes even more bravery to take it in and turn and play forward.

I agree he doesn't have the pace to be a player running past players so he has to get turned and find the creative pass or get a yard for a shot.

Again klopp give him loads of time amd games. But mostly 20 mins as a sub unless there was nothing on the game..he gave him all the time in the world in the europa and when the title measure gone he played him more.

Slot as I've said many times.seems to only have interest in here and now and had no interest in elliott. He seems.more interested in Jones who I think is an even worse midfielder but could be a better 10

Elliott had a good euros there in the summer bit nobody came.in did they? Villa saw a easy loan and bargain for them but emry has no interest either.

 

I hadn't realised Slot contract only until end of next season? Apparently new contract negotiation put on hold.

 

Hi Frank, nice to see you posting again.
He signed a 3 year contract to run until June 2027. Probably wise to wait a few weeks to see if he can improve things before extending. I'm expecting results to improve, we have too much quality for this not to be reversed.

 

With the next three matches we have, I suspect it'll get worse before it gets better.

What I do know is FSG won't panic. They are driven by stats and the stats support Slot

 

This isn't true. Last season he came on as an impact sub and almost every Time he created something, a goal, an assisted big chances.
