You don’t even have to be a vet. With knowledgeable horse people around you can discuss theories. We’ve resolved many horse issues over the years without the expensive need to call a vet.
We were toying with the idea of joining a syndicate with Gina Andrews/Tom Ellis . They’ve got some good syndicate packages but like you say I prefer the personal touch and it’s local.we’re lucky to have quite a few ptp tracks nearby. I must say I’ve been up close to the Bradstocks and their success is built on solid foundations, proper horse people no airs and graces. A bit like Henrietta Knight , everything is done correctly.
Exactly, but also know when to call a vet to either discuss or call out. There have been a couple of times when a quick and urgent knowledgeable telephone conversation with the vet has resulted in a trip direct to the hospital for a life saving operation. I dread to think how many horses have sffered in similar situations
It’s not about saving money but wasting money. When you’re out of your depth call a vet. I’ve always believed in surrounding yourself with people with knowledge and not being afraid to ask for help.
