I don't like going through airports either mainly because of the scrum to get through checkin and security. As long as luggage is checked through to final destination I don't mind going through 2 of them so much.

I don't actually mind flying..it's one of the few times that pretty much all control is out of my hands, so I just relax and enjoy the rare time alone not needing to speak and sort of go into a zen state of acceptance. I can actually read a book at the airport or on the plane without being disturbed by thinking of 1001 jobs that need to be done. ****ed hated flying with my kids when they were under 5 though.

Is it ever affordable though? I always check because like someone else said, getting to Manchester and doing all the parking and shuttles and stuff there adds ages onto the journey and I'd much rather use Humberside, but the Humberside option never seems to be remotely competitive. We used it for work for a while, when I wasn't paying obviously, but would love to find the local airport usable for leisure travel.

    Depends I suppose
It was a while ago but we went to Los Angeles from there and it was a very similar price without all the hassle.
I haven’t done it for a while tbf

With the anticipated reopening of of Doncaster it doesn’t look good for Humberside

Though the reopening is still progressing and everyone involved says they're still on track, it will cost £160m to get it operational and is expected to lose another £230m before it starts to break even and that's based on everything going to plan (and it won't be open to passengers until at least 2028).

He was supposed to be in Pacific Exchange down High Street, but he wanted a nice new gaff and "did a deal" with the owners. Some staff told him that public servants should follow council procedures and use existing council buildings to provide VFM for the taxpayer, but he threw a fit, and binned the staff off.

He's also attempted to claim first class train tickets through expenses, and tried appointing his Reform advisors to politically restricted positions.

The recently restored Burton building has been let to Pizza Express, another nail in the coffin for Prinny Quay.

It's already gone (Prinny Quay). Next to nothing left in there.
Needs putting out of it's misery. It ain't going to come back.
Question is, what the heck to do with it?
If only the Uni were more in town, to help breathe life into the place. Converted for student accommodation? Not sure if it's feasible, or even practical with the Uni being where it is.
A massive **** off HMO with a ready made moat round it? Would make more sense than city centre hotels. Oooh, did I really suggest that.
