Because they will ask when it was left there. What they are saying is that they don't to be looking at maybe 12 hours of cctv for someone's bike. No point telling them it was only there an hour when it might have been nicked 6 hours earlier.

To be fair the BTP are pretty decent in my experience. My missus has to ring them almost daily nowadays because of the way she is abused on the trains and they are pretty much there at the next station without fail for her unless it's Howden or Brough! Surprisingly the ones at kings Cross are very responsive and show zero tolerance which, given how busy they must be, is commendable. I'm sure if you reported a bike being nicked regardless of the time it was there they would be helpful with the situation. They tend not to be as stretched as the poor sods having to deal with the wider City centre.
Think what made it even worse the beeb do their own advert saying they hunt out the truth !! Ffs 20 minutes on a storm and two minutes at the end about an innocent man stabbed to death out walking his dog Go figure
I live in the region. 21 years ago myself and my family lived through a Cat 5 hurricane (it would have been Cat 6+ if that even existed). House pretty much destroyed along with cars etc and believe me its no fun to live through. 3 deaths in the UK does not diminish deaths elsewhere due to events such as a major hurricane.
Seen how many deaths in Sudan and kids starving? Far more than Gaza. Thousands of Christians murdered in Nigeria. Little mention of that or protest marches.
All sorts of horrific things going on all over the world that barely make the news. This was a few weeks ago now in the Times. Genuinely shocked and it’s hard to read or comprehend. In the Times today is an article about the Duchess of Kent visiting a surgery in the Congo which specialises in treating rape victims . What is truly horrific is this one surgeon has treated over 80,000 people since starting . In the first two months of this year 10,000 rapes were reported half of which were children. While the Duchess was there he was operating on a 5 year old girl trying to stitch her back together he has even operated on babies who had been raped . In 10 years it is estimated between 6 and 8 million have been killed and 5.5 million displaced refugees. I can’t comprehend how someone can rape a baby or 5 year old and I notice how totally uninterested the western media is regarding this appalling tragedy that has been happening for over a decade. Where is all the outrage ,marches and sanctions or UN resolutions?
That’s truly horrific. The world is such a **** place. I read an article by a former undercover cop who flushed out these horrible people in the “civilised world”. Right on our doorstep, the things that go on. I really hate people.
Mate of mine in the Met went back to uniform from a good job as a detective as he was too upset with what he saw in a dept dealing with this sort of thing. Apparently there is tons of it unreported and even more that doesn't get to court as there is not enough evidence to convict. Makes me feel sick.
I don’t know how they can do a job like that, I really don’t. I guess someone has to, but I honestly couldn’t go on if I had to do something like that.
