Sounds a great place to visit.

Sometimes you don't realise what you've got and good to see it through someone else's eyes
Flour and Feast and Dirty Harry's are very good.

I get more boring than usual and very nostalgic in Humber St. Going on about the different firms, the characters and being a kid running messages from the office to my dad who was a commision agent in Humber St.
No such thing as mobile phone just me sprinting up and down the street with a bit of paper.

See I said I was boring

After seeing on DIY SOS what they did in 9 days to transform a house for the family of a small lad with an awful, life limiting disability, it might be a good idea for HCC to call them in to do any refurbishments.<laugh>

    I agree
I’ve said it before but I’d recommend doing the Maritime walking tour.
Completely free and allow you to see the city as a tourist. Well worth a couple of hours and you’ll probably learn something you either didn’t know or you’d forgotten

Add to that a guided tour of Trinity House. I paid £5 for one the last time it was advertised and you get an information booklet with that. The place is amazing, they even have Captain Cooks original maps in there. I cannot recommend the Trinity House tour highly enough even if you only have a passing interest in the maritime history of Hull.

    Agreed
I’ve been lucky enough to be shown round a few times, and I think they usually open on Heritage Days (which lots of other places do too. It’s worth checking out the full programme)

Eastern Airways, who primarily operate out of Humberside Airport, have gone bust. All flights cancelled, all staff laid off and all planes returned to the leasing companies, very bad news for the airport.

They moved oil and gas workers between the hubs at Humberside and Aberdeen, but I'm pretty sure the actual transport to the rigs, windfarms etc, are helicopter operators that aren't affected.

Never used the place, when I used to fly a lot for work there never was a good option to get any where from there.

To make it worse now I believe the bus service has stopped going there, so you have to get someone to drop you off in a car, get a taxi, go in your own car and leave it at the airport.

Yes couldn't understand why the bus route changed and now doesn't go near the airport.

My sister is a hostess there. They fly premier league and championship clubs all over too. Not that it mattered to her, she didn't know who any of them were.

Maybe they can hike up the energy bills a bit to help subsidise alternative travel? I couldn't believe my last couple of bills.

I emailed Highways England, before the Leicester match, asking if the junction from Lowgate to Myton Bridge would be open for eastbound traffic, it wasn't. The ****ers should have had that section finished months ago, thereby easing traffic after City night games. Also frig knows who decided to make the section of road near Queens Gardens a bus gate while Drypool Bridge is repaired, don't hold your breath on it reopening to cars when repairs are done either. The council say you get a warning letter of you drive through it, second time it's a fine, my letter is in the post!

Had to laugh when I watched a council van drive through there the other day.
