Did Still come with his brothers and backroom staff? Could be like when we appointed Martin O'Neill but John Robertson didn't join him.
It really is a great story that a lad who was decent at a video game ( Football Manager) with no prior experience at top level football actually gets jobs at professional clubs in Belgium, France and England. A movie should be made of this...along the same lines of Eddie the Eagle
speaking to a few mates who go weekly, they dont he will make it till Xmas, even local media are starting to say stuff, massive bullets dodge
I would’ve had him after MB was sacked, his record was very good.. but I also made a case for wanting Lampard and him being a good manager and the majority disagreed look how that’s going I remember a fair bit of talk around Le Bris getting Lorient relegated and people saying his record wasn’t good enough for us. Football is a strange game.. I’ve watched Southampton a few times this season and honestly if I was a fan I wouldn’t be blaming Will Still. Look at the stats in their matches they dominate most games, create loads of chances, loads of shots on target etc but don’t put chances away. That’s not on the manager. I know data is lost on some and I do agree with them to an extent you can only use it so much but their xG this season is 21.3 - behind only Coventry. They’ve scored 13 goals. That is fully on the players imo. Doesn’t speak for their defensive record like because that’s not great either.
Sorted tickets for South Shields v Shrewsbury on Sunday. Believe Shields have a decent chance of an upset
I have to say football supporters are becoming part of their own self fulfilling prophecies and it’s a reflection of how society is going in my opinion. Chelsea just won two trophies, have spent a fortune with the youngest team/squad that can potentially mature and keep improving. They’ve just beaten Liverpool and Ajax yet the home support boo their team at the end of the game. They sat there in virtual silence for most of the game and waited for the next goal to cheer. Fair play to the various commentators who praised our support and called their's out. People are becoming so bloody entitled and spiteful and can’t handle it if they don’t get their own way. Fair enough the Chelsea fans reflect their players and vice versa, they’re really quite unpleasant. Their arrogant hair stroking ref chaser, Cucurella, spent the entire game claiming he’d been fouled, punched and having his shirt pulled. He was clearly trying to push the referee into booking our players, even ‘waving’ a card at one point. Play football you clown! It’s f*cking pathetic, I hope Hume sends him into the crowd at the return game … … ha’way Trai launch the soft get into the paddocks
West Ham fans to step up protests against owners as 'season-long campaign' announced Hopefully this will impact on them and Newcastle in some way.
