And to think that we stole him from under the noses of Wolves from nowhere.
Fantastic, relatively cheap, homegrown and his attitude is fantastic.
Not sure how effective those long throws are though, despite his delivery from them being decent.

Most teams will come to Spurs to try and frustrate
(busparquet tends to suffice for that) + rely on
    Spurs attacking weakness.

Most home teams will currently have to take
the attack to Spurs, so they will be vulnerable.

The truth is that Spurs set piece crossing
attack is masking the current low quality of
    the open play attack.

Superb win and a very solid workmanlike performance by Spurs.
Not great in open play apart from the third goal which was well crafted, Richy gets rightly slated at times but that was a beautiful placed headed pass to Sarr.

3rd in the league, best away team in the premier ( just need to sort our home form out )
Joint top scorers and 2nd best defense.

All this with Romero, Udogie, Solanke, Kulu , Madders, Dragusin and Takia unavailable and Xavi who has just not settled yet.

Some very tough games coming up but a good first quarter of the season in terms of results so far .

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "Very happy to be able to go here to Everton and they've been very good at home. Any away match you win 3-0 in the Premier League is super impressive. First half, we took control of the ball and passed more. The second half was more of a dog fight, which it can be in the Premier League. The season is very young. We won after the Champions League and that is not easy to do.

"Set pieces are so crucial. Right now, Arsenal is on track for the title from set pieces. We scored two very good goals and the boys competed excellently in our box.

On set pieces: "We worked hard on it and so did Micky. Now he has three headers with two today.

"Still a lot of things I want to improve in the tram. We have a clean sheet mentality, and that gives you a lot of points on the road.

"The second phase of set pieces was so good. The performances were so much more complete."

So we are missing 5 starters, have no good strikers or left wingers, have the wrong pivot and an average goalkeeper.

We are third in the PL, unbeaten in the CL and still in the Carabao. Surely that is above expectations.

It’s not always pretty but 2-0 going into a second half soaking wet super Sunday, that was proper fighting for the cause stuff. I actually think after seeing out the first 20 or so minutes of that second half, Everton began to run out of ideas. Danso, VDV and Paulinha absolute rocks. Bentancur had a great game as well.

Everton did well out wide as expected but was impressed at the lack of silly fouls we gave away.

Now to continue my attempt to navigate the new Football Manager UI (for those that know, wish me luck!)

Moyes has been unbelievably fair. Fair play to him. I have a lot of respect for him.

    1. What would the a priori expectations for
the games played to date have been ??

    2. Regarding the League cup, ill-advised perhaps.

If we pair Burnley with Southampton and Leeds with Ipswich the points comparison with last season is...
    Burnley =
    City =
    Bournemouth=
    West Ham +2
    Brighton +1
    Wolves +1
    Leeds =
    Villa -3
    Everton +3

    that's plus 4 points

if we swapped Burnley with Ipswich and Leeds with Leicester it would be:

    Burnley +3
    City =
    Bournemouth=
    West Ham +2
    Brighton +1
    Wolves +1
    Leeds +2
    Villa -3
    Everton +3

    that's plus 9 points

either way shows a big improvement in results and says we are moving in the right direction. Just think fans need not to get carried away or too down heartened when we stumble.

We could well be out of the league cup and have lost to Chelsea this time next week so I hope people stay patient

I love FM but haven’t bothered with the beta as I suspected lots of issues early doors so I’ll leave it a few months before I get involved when hopefully all the bugs and issues have been fixed

How different is the game compared to FM24?

Even if the club lose both games, will still be top half of the league and doing ok in Europe. After the turmoil of last season I can’t moan how things are going atm.

Not to keep digging out Ange but this season just feels normal and what it should be like. Of course there will be lows and issues but I doubt it will ever be like that was domestically.

    Improvement is not expectation.
I expect Spurs to get X pts from those games,
and the actual results are Y pts.

What did people think X would be a priori
(as soon as the fixture schedule was announced) ??

If your X <= Y, then the team has not exceeded your expectation.

Shamefully I still haven’t bought 24. Though that’s largely due to the fact my laptop is about 8 years old and would probably somehow **** itself if I try running that, let alone anything do with FM26. From what I’ve read of 26 it sounds like a lot of people aren’t too happy with the beta so far.

I love playing older versions anyway, ones with Jol’s or Arry’s Tottenham teams and trying to rewrite history but also for the nostalgia, lol. I don’t consider myself much of a gamer these days but FM is the rare exception, ridiculously addictive.

I’ve played way too many hours on fm24, mainly because 25 got cancelled but even now I find it decent.

Yeah I bought a half decent laptop especially for the game a couple of years ago. Can’t really justify it but you have to treat yourself now and then.

I think fm26 will come good but probably not until after Christmas. Although I did hear that they’re encouraging people to use a controller which goes against the game for me
