How do football kit deals work? Does the club pay the manufacturer for the design + x amounts of kits?

Also a link to the KLP story movie?

If work was really due to start in Jan 26, we'd have seen planning applications, actual plans of the build, tenders would be out in the construction industry ( they aren't ) plus many other things would already be happening for a build if that size. Unless he actually means the above will start in Jan....

KLP's agent was trying to sell him to Brentford a good twelve months before the move actually happened.

If it's as close as he's claiming he would be able to show plans as a bare minimum, We both know how long construction projects like this take in the country.

I’ve first hand evidence of that national grid pipeline that’s going in south of Brid. If you wonder where you tax money is going, I’ll give you a good guess.

I can imagine, I've been involved in construction since I stopped playing and the waste, red tape and inflated prices is ridiculous. The publicly funded projects are the worst by a country mile

I thought Acun had a stake in Kappa Turkiye?

If he's ditching them now then that screams coherence...

It's a way to add value, so why wouldn't he?

But his suggested timescale isn't happening in a month of Sundays.

On a wider note, I'm glad he acknowledged his liquidity issues and financial constraints in the previous year and hopefully these are a thing of the past.

Not sure the 'changes made' at a finance level relate to changes at City, or Acun Medya though.

... because apparently he's lost all interest, he's bust, we're bust, he can't & isn't even paying the milkman, he's a fraud, he's selling us, (and far far worse all said at the time) :emoticon-0136-giggl I was finding it funny on this thread that what was said on these matters was being conveniently overlooked.

From minutes 6 to 10. "coming to what happened in summer ..... was not based on financial problems (as in not 'broke') ... but... completely based on technical problems. If it was lack of money then we would have sold Hughes for £10 million for example and wouldn't have done things that have been done". "Betrayal by Villa" (without naming them) for going back on their agreement to offset monies owed to each other and error by his staff for not understanding that the agreement carried this risk.

Like you, I'm not sure if the (personnel) changes made at a finance level relate to City or the parent organisation, not that it matters that much to our discussion. He's clearly been let down by incompetence of those he's delegated to (not just on the Villa agreement) and was clearly pissed off about it. Also noting that, once again, he readily accepts ultimate responsibility for the situation .... and has learned from it and acted.

So now pretty much everything I said at the time has now been fully vindicated and proven. No arse-liking involved, just keeping a level head while rationally looking at what was happening, what was being said by the club and bits I'd been told. All the abuse I got from some for simply being correct eh.

Yes, he probably talks and wears his heart on his sleeve a bit too much. But if we want his passion, his commitment, his ambition, the profile, his money etc etc then imo we need to embrace / accept how he is and enjoy the ride.

Btw, I'm not sure it does add value when he doesn't own the ground and it's surrounds. The famous old Allam quote comes to mind. Moving the 1st team to a new location and having the academy join them there would to my mind be the better move, but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be happening. I'm sure they, as with previous regimes, must have considered doing so but for whatever reasons keep deciding against it. There must be good reason as it keeps happening.

p.s. I really don't want to re-open the debate. I know what I posted and I knew it was correct all along. I know what some others posted and it was wrong, and in some cases shameful. It's gone and the future looks bright (if only our injury curse would end).

Breaking news, man points finger of blame at others.

He can try blame other clubs for the weird deal we made, and he can try blame his underlings, but the buck stops with the owner.

Thankfully, things are looking pretty promising currently. Lets hope he learned his lesson

Or, breaking news, poster can't admit he got things horridly wrong.

The owner took ultimate responsibility (as he should). He's explained (again, and as others have already done so) what actually happened. He's acted and made necessary corrections, so there's no need for "hope he('s) learned his lesson", it's done. If only some posters could do the same eh - the facts are there, it's over, accept it, move on.

Incorrect, I didn't get anything wrong. I made no assumptions throughout the entire debacle until after the appeal, when more details came out, including the email from Villa saying we are not here to aid your cashflow.

Regardless, whether he personally has acknowledged fault (which i don't reacall seeing tbh) does not automatically mean everything will be fine in future.

Trust needs to be regained through actions.

Not sure I've ever trusted a city owner, even Pearson had an ulterior motive to make coin and fortunately that involved the club becoming championship level. Sometimes easier to just ignore the rumours and behind the scenes stuff and just enjoy (or not) what's going on on the pitch. It was out of line when the owner was accused of theft/fraud by several posters with no evidence other than a caterer not getting paid.
