Our No.7 Tyreece Campbell had 4 good chances ? To paraphrase Geoffrey Boycott, his Nan could have scored at least 2 of them wearing her pinny.
Decent performance again under constraints with so many injuries, we have zero luck in that department. As others have said, if we’d had McBurbie, he would have buried a lot of the play in the box today, I’m still not big on Joseph tbh and we do need a better back up striker, although probably difficult to get someone decent in our shoes. I definitely thought it was a penalty when it hit his hand, although will have to see it again. I know we’ve had a great week and we would have taken it all day long, but I can’t help but feel we’ve dropped points. Still in a much better position than most of us thought we would be.
Pandur made 2 saves inside the first 3 minutes. We definitely took about 15 minutes to get into the game properly. The formation change didnt help.
Poor 1st half, better in the 2nd...Crap atmosphere.... To drop 2 points against the worst team at ours, thus far, this season, just emphases we need some extra mojo... And in all truth we were not much better.
Both teams had tough games prior to today and half our first 11’s missing so it’s no surprise we were both pretty ****. I thought we still produced some fantastic and dangerous attacking moves that we should have done a lot better with some of them. Agree McBurnie would have made a huge difference today. Joseph has the know how but doesn’t have the physique nor the skill to lead the line at this level.
I agree a draw was a fair result. You could have had two goals in the first few minutes but didn't really create anything after that. As others have said I just don't think we did enough to deserve to win but I do think we were the better team for the most part. You also say you would have won with better quality upfront but we can easily say the same with McBurnie not playing.
I don't think there'll be a single match day squad where they're all part of it. Too many of them get niggles to all be fit at the same time.
Post-match reaction Hull City manager Sergej Jakirovic told BBC Radio Humberside: "I think that we controlled everything, because we expected that Charlton played (that way) today – with a lot of man-marking, long balls and two fresh strikers. "We also we had a lot of problems, and this is why I decided to change system and everything. Yesterday Liam Millar's partner got burgled, and had a baby. He missed training yesterday. We missed seven players today. "But if we didn't lose concentration or focus in the last set-pieces, everything would be fine, because I didn't feel in danger, they played exactly the way I expected. "Maybe we didn't score the second goal to kill the game, and everything would be finished. But this is football. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, because in a few games we score last-minute goals, also. "So let's move on. In the last four games – ten points, and for me this is perfect. Like I said to the lads in the dressing room, we need to keep going like this." please log in to view this image 10:12 Media caption, Jakirovic: 'We had a lot of problems' Charlton Athletic manager Nathan Jones: "It's an outstanding point. If you are any team in the Championship, seven points (from the last three games) is an excellent return. "We have had to dig in. We made a big error to allow them to take the lead. "To beat Sheffield Wednesday, to beat Ipswich on the road and to draw with a flying Hull is great. "You can be a bit more upbeat about a seven-point week in the Championship because that is outstanding."
He looked pissed off at the final whistle and walked straight down the tunnel, head down, by himself.
I thought it was a terrible game, so many stray passes and loose balls, still should have won it. Getting through a game without losing a player for a couple of months would be nice too.
He looks woeful, doesn’t really put much effort in what so ever. A knackered 75 minute Joseph looks more effective.
This 100%. The crowd ****ing about unsettles the team as they have already set up and know their jobs. 1 minute later we concede as people have switched off. Pack it in.
