We'll bring that points per game stat down, I'm sure.

Oh come on, surely it can't be that we agree a 100% on the poll. Pretty damning

I just have this gut feeling that he lost the dressing room a few games ago, he doesn't appear to have personality or gravitas to man manage a group.

Maybe about the time that we suspect a captain of a champ club went to speak to the board?

Yeah, that's a fair point. I find it tough to evaluate him, in that he did do a good job and did what he asked, but he still underperformed in a way, and of course, less said about post promotion the better

Yeah, i think the mistake with Martin was taking so long to sack him that the season was done and dusted. You'd hope SR would learn from that and act quickly with Still, but they have a habit of making the same mistake over and over again.

Nope. I'm abstaining, as I don't think sacking him will solve anything. But neither will keeping him. We're ****ed either way, basically, and things will get worse before they get better; might as well accept it.

Disagree. I can see this squad having a relatively spectacular turn around if we bring in the right person.

    Obviously that’s a titanic-sized ‘if’.

I have always supported Will Still and I will continue to do so because I believe he is a good up and coming manager managing in England for the first time and I really do think he'll turn it around. Today though was all on him with the subs. Replacing Leo with Jack was a catastrophic decision.

Carrick’s impact when he took over at Boro (from Wikipedia):

On 24 October 2022, Carrick was appointed head coach of Championship club Middlesbrough. Middlesbrough were 21st in the Championship at the time of his appointment, with 17 points from 16 games played, one point above the relegation zone. Despite taking the lead, Middlesbrough lost Carrick's first game in charge 2–1 away to Preston North End on 29 October. Carrick won 16 of his first 23 Middlesbrough games as the club began to climb the table. On 7 December 2022, Carrick was nominated for the EFL Championship Manager of the Month award for November after his first calendar month in charge. Ten points from four matches, scoring thirteen goals along the way, saw him win the award for March 2023. After guiding his side to a fourth-place finish, Middlesbrough lost in the play-off semi-finals to Coventry City.

Sounds good to me. Not perfect by all means, but probably as good as we can hope for. He also got the best out of Archer and Azaz while there.

Southgate too similar to Russ. Ange wouldn’t come here.

Undoubtedly an improvement on Still, not particularly experienced but has at least managed a big club in the division.

Sure, but three seasons in the Championship is probably more experience than most other available managers out there.

Also he’s a Champions League winner and played under Fergie. Makes Will Still’s CV look about as good as mine.

I think 5 subs actually makes a managers job harder. Why he took scienza off for bloody stephens I have no idea though.

Yeah, I wouldn't be against it. Out of a job as well so less risk too. Would command way more respect from the players than Still as well.

I still think that on paper our CM should be very strong in this league (when they're available!). And I'd like to think that Carrick would be able to get the very best out of them. I said the other day that it maybe wasn't a coincidence that Morris-Hackney was arguably the stand-out CM pairing in the league last season.

So i'm pretty sure Still will be gone soon (although I think he will at least get until Sheffield Wednesday as we know SRs modus operandi for giving managers about 1-3 months longer than the fans do), more interestingly who is out there then?

    I will preface this list by saying I dont necessarily want these managers, also some of these may be very unlikely;

Ralph Hasenhuttl - I dont think there is a chance, but a few have mentioned him. (Some crap betting site seems to have him as favorite if Still is sacked, but we know that counts for **** all while the manager is still here).

Russell Martin - Only here because I could see SR being stupid enough to approach, I think he would tell them to **** off if they tried it anyway and we would all breathe a sigh of relief.

Ange Postecoglu - Might still see himself as a PL manager and I don't think his style of football is compatible with our players anyway.

Gary O'Neil - Some would be underwhelmed, but he has had some purple patches in his career. Wolves seem to have reverted to being **** again so maybe their problems were bigger than him.

Steven Gerrard - Actually did a good job at Rangers, but hasn't looked up to anything anywhere else. Lots of our fanbase would hate him off the spot for who he is.

Michael Carrick - Sounds like SR were semi interested in him in the summer, did well at Middlesbrough for a time but they are doing better without him now.

Alex Revell - Stevenage manager doing well in League One. Another one relatively high on previously mentioned crap betting site. Fans would be underwhelmed, but going for an in form, young manager from a league below is not unknown to SR.....

    Noone really inspires tbh.
