He did alright in league one with Bolton last year but he’s 21 and not knocking on the door yet, let alone kicking it down currently. He’ll have a decent career and will work his way up to a Championship/bottom half EPL team over the years I’d imagine, earn a decent amount and retire with a good amount of caps for Ireland.
But this is where I blame EH. He's clearly good enough but will deteriorate. We've had plenty of youngsters like that over the years. He could easily be our current left back. Sadly EH holds no trust in youth - I'm sure this is because he was burnt by signing expensive ****e youngsters from Liverpool for Bournemouth
Or he's seen more of him and doesn't think he's up to it yet. Think I know what I would do if my job was the one on the line.
Well I've seen enough of Burn to realise he's not up to it at left back. Also the comments have by EH in Murphy suggests he thinks he is up to it but ironically lacks experience
So, he's not up to it yet as he's not played at a high enough level. Maybe send Shola an email. Burn brings a lot more to the table at the moment than Murphy.
Not sure he's good enough right now but agree we need to get some of the youngsters out on the pitch in some of the games where we are clearly onto a win - Bradford and USG would have been good to get him on the pitch for more than the 3 mins he had vs Bradford. In fairness to Howe, Murphy has been in all the cup squads so far - which is where I'd like to see him getting his game time - but we have a squad of first team players with 2 for every position currently (bar LB ironically) and Howe needs to get them all time as well. Imagine you are Joe Willock or Will Osula and see Murphy coming on at 3-0 for the last 5 mins instead of you vs Benefica, you'd be knocking on the managers door the next day asking why it wasn't you and rightly so. Another loan to the Championship would be good for him in Jan
I love the amount of social media coverage about Woltemade now going to Bayern Munich. What, the same Bayern Munich who didn't want to spend as much on him as we did? And who would now need to offer us even more than that to even consider selling him? OK. This need for clickbait is just embarrassing.
