It says on the BBC news website that Chansiri's ownership of SWFC is "effectively over" now they have gone into administration. I hope that is true. There must be someone out there willing to invest in a Club with such a long and proud history. Formed in 1867, top flight from the mid 1890's until the First World War, Wednesday were Champions of England twice & FA Cup winners before the lads from East Street formed Charlton Athletic.
When you are put into Administration your ownership effectively ceases. If the Club hadn’t been put into Administration they would have faced a winding up order from HMRC
Just seen the BBC news snippet on Sheffield Wednesday. I never knew Chansiri had his name spelled in massive letters using white seats in one of the stands at Hillsborough. What a mega ego Imagine if Roland had tried doing that at the Valley
The Club that sold it's soul for a tatty white elephant athletics stadium Their fans are desolate. There's no way back.
I've seen some excellent concerts there (GN'R, the Stones, Foo Fighters), but those were on the pitch and near the stage. When it comes to watching football, it is a soulless, joyless grief-hole. Utterly abysmal. And getting to the station afterwards is maddeningly slow. West Ham really have imploded by moving there.
