Now you might read the news every day hoping to better understand the world around you and make your way through life’s complicated twists and turns. The Thursday quiz, on the other hand, reads the news looking for the weird, the strange, the quirky, animals in unexpected places and, of course, French politicians attempting to make a heavy-handed visual metaphor with the books they are carrying. Sixteen questions await you this week – have fun and let us know how you got on in the comments. Allons-y!

6/16 Did it again narrowed it down to a choice of 2 and chose the wrong one.
It's annoying when you've read the news article for the question but can't remember the answer.
Can't argue mind as I did get some complete guesses correct.
    Cheers @Blond Bombshell

    I got 7.
I knew maybe 4, the rest were (mainly poor) guesses. Yep, that was tough.

    Cheers @Blond Bombshell .

9/14 The guessometer was back in action, must have got at least 5 points with complete guesses.

    You got 7/14

Think you called it right BB. Anything above 8 is a good score today.
    Well done Old Newy!
