According to The Cricketer, Dawson will be getting a central contract (and there's the possibility that Baker will get one too). I'm not sure how much this will affect their availability for us going forward but wouldn't it also mean that we have more money to play with, still keeping within the salary cap? Good news if so, bring out the chequebook quickly please for some new batters.

Baker is almost certainly getting one. Presumably Dawson will be playing ODI and T20 international cricket regularly now which gives us a headache.

"The Cricketer understands that both the seamer (John Turner) and left-arm spinner Andrew Neal are likely to sign multi-year deals with the club."

Good news, as long as Turner can press the reset button and go back to the basics that made him successful when he first broke into the 1st team squad.

Very pleased for Neal. Hope he gets an opportunity in the CC, particularly when Daws is unavailable.

Sam Curran showing why he should have been recalled to the England side way, way earlier than when he eventually was.

It's a real shame the rain came. Before then Blackcaps fielded really well, and i think would have gone on to win.

That looks to have been quite some innings from Rabada at no.11.

So Turner signs on for another 2 years. Good news, as long as we can get him back fit and somewhere near the form of his early promise.

With regard to the 'Hampshire Hawk' posts, I'm assuming that the 3 batters we missed out on during 2025 are Hameed, Joe Clarke and Muyeye. I wonder what the club news next week is, hopefully a new signing and signs of progress on the head coach front. Jonathan Trott would be good.
