Bentancur regularly playing deeper than Palhinha just seems a complete nonsense.

Sadly, on current form your sentence is 3 words too long...

It makes a certain amount of sense to have him as the player to receive the ball from the defence

Doesn't make sense for him to apparently not receive the ball anywhere else on the pitch

It would make sense if he got moves started or at least carried the ball to gain territory, but he does neither. Puts in the occasional good defensive block or interception but otherwise just wanders around with his hands in his sleeves like the cold kid in the playground.

That's the issue: Bissouma played that role under Ange and got things moving forwards

    Bentancur plays there, and...passes sideways

Plonk Sarr next to him in that configuration and things would make more sense

I thought this game could be such dirge that
I could not even be arsed to hack aggro-free
streams for viewers (those I may have spared
the pain - you can thank me later) .

With the injuries that we've got and the way we're playing it might be an idea to go 4-4-2.
Kolo Muani seemed very comfortable holding the ball up, so pairing him up could work.
Maybe start him alongside Richarlison and then we've got Tel and Scarlett from the bench.

Resting/dropping one of Bentancur/Palhinha for Sarr, Bergvall or Gray could help, too.
It may all depend on how bad Odobert's injury is and our options on Sunday.

Vicario has been included in this week's Champions League Team of the Week.
    Everyone else? Not so much.
