That performance wouldn't beat brentford. That is absolutely true. It's up to the players to take it on from this level and improve again to take on brentford.
Well luckily none of us are in the squad. They’ll be no complacency because we won a game, they’ll be working very hard to keep on improving
Wirtz got two assists but could have been a lot more; he created three more chances that others failed to finish (not criticising them, just saying) and would have had a goal had Salah passed too (he's never passing with how desperate he is to score).
Salah rarely has. Thats Salah and that’s what made him what he was. I recall the looks that Mane used to give him. He’s not different (with regards to shooting or passing) because he’s desperate at all. He’s the same and maybe snatching at some shots because he’s desperate.
Fully agree not sure what Chiesa has to do to get a start would like to see him in a full strength team from the start to see how he does.
Well that's entirely predictable. You keep going rewriting history mate btw. Talking about goals that were not scored wont cover up the clear things we need to see improvement on. The reality is that no matter how many excuses are made we have been losing for certain reasons that will still be there if we dont get far more aggressive.
Agreed. doesn’t mean that yesterday we played **** though. We won 5-1 and actually took our chances. If we’d done that v Chelsea and United we’d also have won the game.
Yeah, I wouldn't argue with a lot of that, and whalloping a mid-Championshipship level side (after somehow allowing them to dominate the start of the game, and then to score a goal after not one player put a challenge in on them in the run-up) shouldn't be fooling anyone that we've turned a major corner. Then again, although we were poor in those four games we lost, we weren't as bad as when slumps in in 2021 and 2023. We should also recognise that the first seven games we won on the bounce after the Community Shield were all close and decided by late (lucky?) goals. The fickle finger of fate and all that, as we lost four games when we weren't that much worse than in those first games, but our luck had run out. So no, I ain't getting carried away that our form has massively improved, but I am hoping that we are entering a period when we're not relying on luck anymore to to not get beaten, because I think we used our quota up in August and September.
Frankfurt is a team full of international players, they are not a mid-level Championship team and i'm betting are better than the likes of Leeds, Wolves, West Ham etc.
Yes we were not as bad as some of those really bad times. But the pattern is clear since day 1 preseason. Run though lfc they will drop off you and not challenge.
They won the Europa League in 2022, were semi-finalists last year - finished 3rd in the league above Dortmund last season. They're not world beaters, but the arrogance in some of the comments here is astounding.
Arsenal fan here.. now I have to say this because we have ALOT of annoying overreactive fans at Arsenal but... You guys take the ****ing biscuit. Firstly with the treatment of Trent last Season and now Salah. Your best player is being scape-goated for a few poor performances. Seriously Salah was unreal last Season and now you all want him dropped? Wirtz has come in - DONE NOTHING and deserves a starting spot?.. same with Isak honestly. IMO - this is what Slot should be doing... ---Isak--------Ekitike-------Salah--- ---------------Szobozlai---------------- -----Macallister----Gravenberch---- Isak plays on the left for his country, while Ekitike deserves to start up top. To me that looks a WAY stronger lineup. I'll be thrilled if you guys do drop Salah though - I think your chances of winning the league reduce considerably without him in your lineups.
