Just need to sharpen up here and get aggressive with them. Still stepping back off and letting them have it rather than go kick the ****ers. Bit more aggression in getting close and dominating and then be more positive to go best the guy when youve two big strikers up there waiting.
Midfield is just perplexing... Honest question... Does anyone here know what Slot is trying to switch to and why it's not working... I'm not jumping on Slot, just... It's clearly a bit crap at mo and I'm not sure is it a them and us not mixing between new and old or....?
Reading back, I'm obviously in the minority that's pleased with the performance. If we'd gone in 1 nil down I'd be happy. For the first time you can see a system, it's not perfectly executed but it's there. We are picking loose balls up, controlling the game better and look dangerous. For their goal, you can say it looked chaotic, but it wasn't positioning that was the issue. Robertson defending is why we where screaming for a new left back all season
Previous games I've no idea. This game it's fairly obvious. 3 at the back robertson van dyke konate with zlob & or jones sitting. Bradley going wide right. Wirtz going the forwards (attack) Defending traditional back four 3 in front. The transition isn't smooth, as youd expect, but its clear what they are trying to do.
Just settling in now for the second half. Can’t comment on the first half really but I was not surprised to see us concede again and I fear for our midfield…..never would I have selected this midfield, not sure if it is forced on slot or not and I suspect it’s been a bit lightweight. Thankfully it’s against a leaky Frankfurt so we’re getting away with it so far. if anything was ever to show that football is not like a football manager game, it’s us right now. It’s going to be a long season.
And also got whacked the second.week. We.just need to keep the pressure up and just feel what applying our pressure and being agressive can deliver for us.
