Marcus has today, been awarded a Pride of Britain award for his efforts in both awareness and financial support of mental health. Very well deserved.
For any one sufffering from the winter blues, try replacing some of your lighting in the house with full-spectrum daylight bulbs that mimic natural sunlight, these posts expain it a little and the bulbs aren't to expensive, worth a shot at least ? https://blog.lightbulbs-direct.com/choosing-daylight-bulbs/ https://www.makegreatlight.com/about-us/blog/difference-between-full-spectrum-bulbs-daylight-bulbs
I’ve been keeping my house lighter for longer recently to see what impact it has. I tend to hate dark mornings/dark nights as I’d feel like I’m in a loop of going to work and it’s dark, coming home and it’s dark, day gone. At work, we now get a day per fortnight working from home and it’s having a huge impact positively. Just lets us do things we wouldn’t normally do during the week and feels like there’s more of a “balance”. We’re allowed to have the day “off” and do the work we would have done another evening or at the weekend. As long as what needs to be done is done, it’s okay. Appreciate not all workplaces will be as trusting as that but it’s certainly helping us.
I detest this time of year, bad stuff always seems to happen to me around it and this year is no exception. Just been let go today from a job I started about three months ago (end of probation period). Never been unemployed before and I haven't got a ****ing clue what to do, financially or to get myself back into work.
I don't really have an industry so to speak, which is one of the many things that terrifies me about the whole situation. Just done clerical/admin stuff all my life.
Ah okay, not something I know about. Hopefully something will turn up soon. I wish you all the best in finding your next employment.
Sorry to hear that, not long term solution but probably a good time of year to pick up temporary seasonal work through an agency to keep you ticking over? Plenty of people taking on extra staff for Xmas period , etc
It is difficult. Just have to keep busy to stop the intrusive worrying thoughts. Register with local recruitment agencies that specialise in admin etc and send out your cv to relevant companies. Hammer the exercise to tire yourself out so you sleep better and avoid the warm embrace of alcohol and the guaranteed hangover anxiety that follows. Best of luck.
