Right, time to move on from last night's misery and start thinking about the upcoming misery instead. Will Still takes his Twenty Minutes FC side to face Blackburn in what feels like an absolute must win game for him. Last time in the championship this was a dull 0-0 and you wouldn't bet against a repeat of that scoreline. Azaz has to start for me which means a back 4 also really. TMFC have won only 2 of their 11 league games this season and fan discontent is starting to build towards the manager as well as the owners. A loss here will almost certainly leave the fans in full revolt mode (well for us anyway). Thought using Le Tiss as the memory for this ground was apt as we've only won games with a worldy so far this season so who's going to step up for us here? Also because I can't think of anything else interesting to have ever happened in Blackburn. Anyway the most interesting thing about this game is surely nothing to do with Still, or the formation we play, or what players we put out. Nah what's got me on absolute tenterhooks is wondering at what point of the match TMFC have their purple patch and how long it lasts so let's have predictions to that effect. I'll go minutes 17 to 39. SR out. Up the ****ing TMFC
Last thing I want is a draw. Either win (obviously number 1 choice) or lose so Still either gets the boot or is on the brink. Draw does nothing at all.
Saturday 25th October 2025 Football League Championship Blackburn Rovers FC v Southampton FC Referee:- Robert: Madley, Assistant Referee: Darren Williams, Assistant Referee:- Daniel: Leach, Fourth Official:- John Busby,
Start well for 25 mins, miss 3 chances. They score when they first venture into our half. Players give up, pass sideways as if we are winning 3-0 until about the 75th minute when we play a sloppy pass that puts their striker straight through and they score to make it 2-0 Gabbiadini song is sung throughout
0-0 WS gives a impassioned post match presser about how the lads have been honest with each other, worked hard all week and are all unified in getting the club back to where we need to be. Followed by a home loss to PNE. SR out
Surely he will revert back to what we are led to believe is his favoured system of 4231. If he sticks with 3 CBs and ends up getting sacked he'll surely regret not going with the system that he prefers and actively recruited for. Fellows and Azaz have to start, but Armstrong probably does too which makes it tricky. I'd probably keep Amrstrong right and see what Fellows is like cutting in from the left.
I'd **** 'em all off and play the U21s. Not even joking. Actually **** it. Apart from the amazing Naan breads, Blackburn is a **** hole. Make the first "team" go and make them stay there a week. The ****s
A 'back 7' and 2 goalkeepers, Saints start well with three open goals missed, the last of which actually defies the laws of physics, then a mistake by the entire back 7 all at once gives Rovers the lead, Saints hit the post from a millimetre out with a Rovers defender and goalie on the floor laughing unable to stop the chance, then near the end an Armstrong own goal from 30 yards out seals the game for the home team and that is quickly followed by twelve miskicks the final of which slices Rovers clear through and they score when McCarthy dives the wrong way whilst staying on his line.....or something like that.
I dont disagree. Part of me feels that Fellows, Azaz and Scienza behind Armstrong up front could work if we play to his strengths. But I have no trust in Still to do that. It's also extremely lightweight
I can't think of anything else interesting to have ever happened in Blackburn. Avoiding all those 10,000 holes around the town must make shopping an adventure. Potholes? They have proper holes in their streets.
Didn’t expect a relegation six pointer this season. But here we are Hopefully we can get a win to propel us up from 18th. Surely we can’t lose to Blackburn? Surely?
