It was a 5-0 home win in the CL over Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade) in 2019. TV: TNT Sports. How would you like to line up for this one and how do you think we actually will line up?
Romero and Udogie missed training yesterday and today, I doubt we'll see them tomorrow. Dier is out for them.
Based on our previous experiences, we'll either face a soundly midtable Ligue 1 team - or a team packed with generational talent Really no middle ground with Monaco, is there?
Not optimistic about this one. I think it really is a struggle at the moment. Just doesn’t look like we have enough going forward and with it looking like we won’t be seeing Kulusevski or Solanke for a while yet, I think things will get worse before they get better.
Away game in Europe just a few days after a tough PL game and 10 players missing. I’d happily take a draw tonight.
The reality is our squad (and first team tbh) aren't good enough to juggle four competitions. We improved squad depth in the summer but only marginally. I think this reality is about to hit us.
no where near ready maybe we can squeeze a League cup trophy out of this current squad but no more imo
Qualify for the Europa or conference league next season and aim to win in Europe again This squad has shown they can do that. Winning the PL or Champions League isn’t happening.
If you mean by winning last year then that is undeniable. But do I think this squad - as it is so far this season - has shown that ability, then in brief moments, but I'm less convinced over all.
It’s just firepower we’re lacking, the squad in general is actually pretty good outside of that. Even if Son was seen as being beyond his best he still managed 17 goal contributions in the league last season, the likes of Tel and Odobert won’t even get that combined and we can probably add Richarlison in that too. Then add in the injuries to Maddison and Kulu (and Solanke) alongside the sale of Son and it’s probably about 40+ goal contributions down at the moment. Can’t help saying it but a top class LW really would’ve made the world of difference in my opinion.
Losing Son without bringing in a replacement was stupid. Postecoglou playing him way out wide was equally stupid.
GK, LW and ST have to be the priority in the next few windows. I’d sell Vicario, Richarlison and loan out one of Tel or Odobert (unless someone offered what Spurs paid for them then I’d sell both of them without hesitation)
I think that we have to see what happens over the next couple of months first. Kolo Muani and Solanke could have plenty of impact or absolutely none. I'd be happy to bring in a keeper and loan out Kinsky, though. He needs to play and Vicario needs competition.
Kolo Muani could possibly be that guy but Solanke has shown over his career that he’s not a big scorer. He’s better than Richarlison for sure but will never score enough to get Spurs where we want them to be. Vicario and Kinsky haven’t shown me anything to suggest they could be the required level for a top level keeper. Of the two I’d keep Kinsky as he’s younger and more coachable but Vicario is at his peak and it isn’t good enough for me. I think Spurs could easily find someone better than him.
