I think most Palestinian dates are grown in the Jordan valley in the West Bank.

Surprised they didn’t re-name it when Jordan gave them a state.

    Jordan valley in Palestine

I had a quick look, most are grown in Jericho, the 'City of Palms'. Some are (or were) grown in Gaza, but all Palestinian exports are subject to Israeli export companies

'The trickle of exports that Israel permits from Gaza go primarily to European markets, but this is only allowed through Israeli export companies that profit from the situation by taking commissions and selling Gaza products for far higher prices than they pay the producers.'

Yeah I remember watching some videos (Youtube I think), how Palestinians grew their own crops and the bit all around exports. I remember a sole female adult tending the greenhouses and the kids in the fields or probably should say on the land. Don't know why but I find that sort of **** interesting, but it was all before the events of today, but still troubled past.

Yeah the Jordan valley is fertile land and is known as the food basket of the West Bank. Olives, dates, figs, almonds and citrus fruits.

You can see why it’s so important to Palestinians and the encroachment of settlements threatens food security there.

Anyway, doing my bit for the war effort :bandit:

I like dates, not had any for a couple of months mind. Can't remember where the last lot came from, they weren't a bad price either. I generally stick to that amount on your plate per day if I have them, just in case lol

I love dates. I use them a lot in my business. Most of the ones I buy come from Abu Dhabi. But these Medjool dates are a bit special, just for a treat.

My top tip for a satisfying sweet treat is to cut a date in half, take the stone out and put a strip of dark chocolate in the middle.

    Medjool dates are banging

Like toffee the best ones are

during Ramadan you get loads of varieties in local shops as it’s a custom to open your Fast with a date

I like a chunk of whole nut with a date for my treat

and a cold glass of milk

Yeah man, they are like nature's toffee.

High in fibre and low GI too, so they are a good sweet treat for people with diabetes too

I know I moved to Cornwall to get away from all the brown people, but one of the things I miss is going to the middle eastern supermarkets and getting a scoop of top quality dates.
