I know I shouldn't complain too much because we're 4-0 up and have played very well against a good side, but this referee, even at 4-0 up, is still falling for Atletico's theatrics and giving them extremely soft fouls.

    4-0

brilliant result. atletico are no mugs and we dismantled them in that 2nd half.

    played 3 won 3

Great to see Gyokeres bag a brace tonight. He worked his socks off and deserved those goals

    Timber was outstanding too

    Very easy game.
I think the result flattered Atletico.

Very pleased for both Martinelli and Gyokeres.
They both reversed their first half - Martinelli with a great finish and Gyokeres being the man in the right place.
I actually love that Gyokeres scored those types of goals - they are the ones that are incremental to the team. Goals we have not been scoring.

    Great Performance.

We can win this competition this year for sure. I thought we could win it last year (we got close) but our squad just seems much better prepared this time.

Will need a bit of luck but can see why we are favourites with the bookies.

    FT. 4-0.

    Excellent performance overall.

Was frustrated with the first half because we deserved a couple of goals, but we upped the ante, showed much more power and energy, and totally blitzed them by scoring 4 goals in 15 minutes in the second half. Nice to see a mix of set plays and open play goals <applause>. And those 2 goals for Gyokeres should do his confidence a world of good. He played well tonight IMO. Glad to see he was rewarded for his efforts.

Another clean sheet. 9 clean sheets in 12 games. Just unreal stuff.

And to think we still have Hincapie, White, Jesus, Havertz, Madueke to get minutes as the season progresses too...top stuff.

    On we go.

    <ok>

This is what i meant about the Spanish League.
    It’s crap.
There gulf between Arsenal and Real Madrid was shown last year to be big.
It was shown to be even bigger vs Atletico.
These Spanish clubs have done well in the CL because they can relax in the league. They play easy games 75% of the time in the league.

Atletico would be battling relegation in the PL and never get near the CL.
Real would be mid table at best.

Zubimendi is just getting better as well.

Feel like he's really stating to click in this team now.

Na that's silly. Just look at their starting 11 - most attractive club in football still full of top tier talent.

    They won it in 23/24.

Real would not even be in the CL if they were in the PL.
It makes a big difference for them being able to coast in their domestic league and still be pretty much guaranteed a CL place.
They have a lot of massively over rated players too... Mbappe, Bellingham. Vinicius Jr...
They are a brand , with a lot of brand equity.
IMO of course. I think most of the European leagues have fallen off in the last few years.

I just think the EPL is particularly strong right now.

How are they overrated? Mbappe is incredible honestly, look at his numbers, won the World Cup - hatrick in the final FFS.

Bellingham will go down as one of Englands best players he's a talent.

Lol, put the best teams in front of Real Madrid and the beat them consistently. They have done this over a number of decades. There’s a reason why they are one of the biggest clubs in the world.

We were put in front of them and beat them 5-1 on aggregate - not only did we beat them, we totally outclassed them.
I am referring to them now, and the Spanish League in general at this time.
    It's not a strong league.
It's the reason I said I thought we'd have an easy game vs Athletico.

One of the fallouts from the game last night is that there seems to be an increased level of fear of Arsenal. Thats good. Building an aura around the team will help
