After my eyes have recovered from reading white text on black background  why do people do that? .... I have to say he's reiterating what practically every Liverpool fan is saying. It's glaringly obvious to everyone - except those who can do something about it.

No you needed 2 strikers for sure, but you signed Ekitike for £70m so he should be your main man.
You shouldnt then go spend £125m on another striker because then the pressure is on the manager to play him, even when the £70m guy is kicking arse!
Bottom line is, if you spend £125m on a player, you cant then bench him, really! And so the manager ends up having to bench Ekitike, which in hindsight looks a bad move. Unless he can get them playing together.
What you should have done is signed Ekitike and someone like Delap, who we signed, for £30m, who can do a job but wont be expecting to start every week.

lots of ifs and buts. None of us know the intent and long term plan or if there even is one. Most knew that so many new players would need a bedding in period and new patterns of play to suit their strengths….but nobody expected this much disruption. It’s gunna take some time and some adaptation, that’s for sure.

You are spouting the slot excuse.

The reality is every sides misses chances and utd missed chances.

We concede. We try score. We huff and ouff. We get ine then the opposition go again and scored again.

3 league game win a row.

Its not realistic to expect it to be 8-0-0 if only se took some chances.

If we could defend it out 5-3-0 was maybe possible but the reality is we are now 5-0-3

We are leaking like a sieve. That's reality.

Agree. However, I'll add that our attack not flowing allows the opposition a little bit of freedom to attack more too. If our attack was firing, the opposition wouldn't be so keen to commit forward.

Gakpo and Salah haven't done much this season so switch it up. Go 4312 and put Wirtz behind Ekitike AND Isak. Make the midfield three robust and let the two FBs provide the width.

Failing that, play Chiesa right, Ekitike left, Isak up top with Wirtz behind. Tell the two CMs to stay sitting.

Stop telling Gravenberch to play B2B, he was one of the best DM in the league last year, play him at DM.

Same applies with Macca; he was one of the best CMs last year, stop asking him to sit and cover Gravenberch. He's not a DM; he was **** at DM in Klopp's last season too!

I'm convinced it'll turn around sooner rather than later, but there does seem to be some glaringly obvious tactical errors

Ekitike started games because Isak wasn't fit. Then he gets himself suspended and who knows whether the last two games not starting has been a residual punishment for his silliness with the red card. Had Isak come in the normal way, fully fit and raring to go, it may have been Ekitike not starting the earlier games. Ekitike's red hot form was a pleasant surprise that must have given the coaching staff a conundrum because he may not have been the original first choice pick.

Let's see if both start tomorrow and how that goes.

    I'd like to see this.

I'd like to see a narrow 4222. Get szobo and wirtz in there and tell macallister and gravenberch to just sit and stay.

Get those full backs who are young and fast running up and down.

Anything bar rinse and repeat this stuff as it leaks like a sieve, theres nothing coming from the strengths of those full backs.

    Let's go.

Ekitike wasn't originally 'dropped' for Isak - he was rested in a LC tie against Soton, being saved for the upcoming Prem match against Palace away. The divvy got himself dropped for the Palace game by getting sent off in a meaningless LC tie. He would have started against Palace, for sure.

I said at the time i'd much rather we spent the money on 2 or 3 players as imo our squad is pretty thin which has been made worse by the Leoni injury .

Your settings must be that way. Do you have a dormant Twitter account? (I have three now that I don't use).

    Why not just go 4-4-2?

Not the same system. 4222 doesn't have wingers, it's two DM/CM players, two AMs with freedom to move / create and two attackers. The width would come from the FBs...

    Ekitike - Isak
    Wirtz - - - - Zobo
    Mac Alister - Gravenberch
    Kerkez - VVD - Konate - Bradley

Hmm. Good footballers don't need rigid formations, imo. You should be able to switch formations throughout the game, never mind from match to match, just like the great Dutch team of '74. That said, the last few games, the players look utterly dazed and confused (with apologies to Zep), so some Rafa-type management may be in order.
