“The Israeli Premier League derby between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv was cancelled before kick-off on Sunday, after what police described as "public disorder and violent riots".

"Dozens of smoke grenades and pyrotechnic devices were thrown," Israeli police posted on X, adding "this is not a football game, this is disorder and serious violence".

Twelve civilians and three officers were injured, police said, while nine people were arrested and 16 detained for questioning.”

Meanwhile in this country we debate whether or not they should be allowed to attend a match in Birmingham.

The Green Party leader has it right. There should be no Israeli teams allowed to play in Europe football competitions until the killing stops

Those fans do themselves no favours by behaving that way.
But I don't think that was the reason given for them being banned from Villa Park.
I thought the reason given was that they would be targeted by outsiders (anti-Semites) because they are Jewish.

The situation has got very confused.

Pizza Hut has gone into administration despite the amount of dough they make (pun intended).

Not upset - pizzas are horrible, massively overpriced and have all the nutritional values of a housebrick.

This will mean they can repackage the restaurant into a barber or vape shop much more lucrative and less work.

Pizzas are certainly horrid things. Even in Italy I'm not tempted.

Just a shame there will be job losses.

The supposed inquiry into grooming gangs is losing all credibility - if it ever had any.

All the classic moves are going on to delay, fudge, obfuscate, muddy the waters etc.
Two victims invited to participate in the inquiry have now resigned from it.
Disillusioned by efforts to exert political pressure - to play down the racial / cultural aspects - before it has even begun.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cy5qkq7zex3o

At this rate it will be 20 years before the inquiry is concluded. Long enough for all the guilty parties to retire and cover their tracks.
And the findings will be nothing more than a whitewash anyway.

This is the perfect example of a total failure of leadership from our mainstream politicians.
Labour doesn't even want to investigate this. The Conservatives cannot be trusted either - they did next to nothing for 14 years.
Personally I'm sick to death of all the covering up. It is frankly sickening.

I have no love for Reform UK, everyone knows that.
But this is why they will sweep to power in a few years. The current Establishment is rotten to the core.
And victims of horrific abuse are being let down again and again and again.

Apologies - I posted this in the Football News thread by mistake earlier...

    Sad, but not surprising.
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c3w98224xx8o

The UK is now a place where fans of Israeli football Clubs are not safe.
The Government may as well withdraw it's request for the safety advisory committees to review their decision. There's no point anymore.
    Bigotry has won again.
    Shameful.

The Daily Express have outed Khan and need to make this stick. If this does not bring down this odious individual nothing will.

According to Wiki it's an Egyptian news website & satellite TV station.
Only a brief summary there though. No mention of who sponsors them or what their politics are.
