The frustration among Leeds United fans is understandable after another match filled with missed opportunities. The current squad is crying out for proven strikers—players with the composure, experience, and instinct to turn chances into goals. Relying on budget options plucked from the Championship or untested youngsters hasn’t paid off, and it’s becoming increasingly clear that quality up front is the difference between a side pushing for promotion and one sliding into mediocrity. Brenden Aaronson, despite his energy and movement, continues to struggle in front of goal, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s performances suggest a spark that’s faded—he needs that proverbial rocket to rediscover his hunger. Manager Daniel Farke must shoulder some of the responsibility too. A team’s mindset begins in the tunnel, and too often Leeds look sluggish rather than sharp from the first whistle. Urgency, aggression, and a clear attacking plan are crucial if they want to climb the table. Watching a seasoned pro like Danny Welbeck still scoring freely is a reminder that experience matters—players who’ve been there and done it know how to seize big moments. Leeds need that kind of presence leading the line, someone to set the tone and lift those around him. Without investment in genuine quality up front, the club’s ambitions will remain just that—ambitions—and the threat of relegation will loom larger with every missed chance.
I Still think we will stay up , we had 3 chances to score in January see if we get anymore players some will want to depart burnley or sunderland when the ship is sinking ha ha
There was talk of us bringing Wood in from Forest a week or so ago but I reckon that will change now that Dyche is in charge of Forest
We all know deep down our attackers are not the standard we wanted in the window. Then going into a Premier League campaign already starting as underdogs and bringing in 2 freebies as our leading line is a massive gamble. We all want it to work because we are fans but deep down it's not a place we should be in. Harrison,Aaronsson were not good enough the season we went down yet still these players played Saturday in our starting 11 for whatever reasoning injuries etc. both have certain attributes but they are not starting 11 players in a premier League club. yes these forwards we need cost alot of money which we don't have. so it will be a slow rebuild and we have to hope what we have keeps us up to continue that build. Ive seen enough we can compete at this level but we have to be honest we are struggling in the final 3rd of the pitch quite a few points already lost mostly because we are not clinical enough and the last ball is not of quality needed at this level. is it just being unlucky? or is the truth we have not recruited up top well enough. still a long way to go fingers crossed.
