I think tactical nous is helped by the quality of the subs coming on. In most cases the subs are not as good as the starting 11. This, however, is where I would question Farke since our expensive keeper and centre back are warming their arses on the bench or if they’re not good enough to displace the championship players why have we bought them?
I think with Perri coming back from injury it’s a bit early to call him a bench warmer. The Bijol for struijk one is the obvious question mark. How much do you reckon Struijk is worth? There was talk of spurs interest at £20m+. Never saw him as a target for a top PL team myself but Bijol is similar age was available for less than £20m - would ‘the market’ see him as a an upgrade. I know Leeds fans did but if Bijol looked levels above in training, he’d be playing. Managers know their jobs are on the line. They don’t pick teams based on what the player cost. They pick who they think are the best available, factoring in continuity, partnerships etc. Last year we had centre backs crocked regularly and we looked light in reserve. We strengthened and we’ve had no injuries…Bijol’s time will come. Let’s hope he looks up to it when it does.
Have to disagree, if you sign a player that can’t dislodge the championship player then you haven’t strengthened, you’ve just added a body and that won’t keep you in this league.
A bit early in the season for giving up hope but if we don't beat Wet Spam we are DOOOMED I TELL YE!!!
15 shots to 1 for Brentford at half time and they’re away. West ham are pathetic. If we can’t beat this lot we are useless
Just to put this into presective if we lose to West Ham and Burnely win next weekend we sit just above the drop zone on goal difference.
DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 45+8 mins 45+8 mins West Ham 0-1 Brentford A huge boost for West Ham as the goal is indeed disallowed for offside. It was close. And the Hammers remain in this game.
Harsh offside that for Brentford. Great goal and no advantage from it. Can they go down please so we can go in for that Thiago for them, he looks good. We can beat West Ham looking at them tonight, need to keep an eye on their forward line tho as Bowen, Pacqueta & Summerville good players but could catch them on the break. James would be a good shout so hopefully fit.
Strengthened the squad - were you expecting borneaw to start, Justin to start, Nmecha to start. Just because players were in the champ doesn’t mean they can’t play a higher level. But fundamentally, no I didn’t think we’d strengthened the first 11 much, just provided better cover/competition. You blaming that on Farke too?
