It doesn't state that at all.

It says, "Home Secretary was informed about possible move."

You've actually managed to contradict yourself in your own post ...

.... I'll repeat my post so it's clear.

You said ' Shabana Mahmood’s own department knew about the decision to ban Israeli football fans a week ago' which was incorrect.

The decision wasn't announced 'a week before'.

Ministers under fire after it emerges Home Office knew LAST WEEK that Israeli football fans could be banned from attending match in Birmingham but did nothing to intervene - as pressure grows on police to U-turn

Labour ministers are today facing questions over why they did not intervene to block a ban on Israeli football fans attending a match in Birmingham, after it emerged they were told about a week ago.

Sir Keir Starmer and senior Cabinet members are today applying major pressure on police to reverse the decision to bar Maccabi Tel Aviv supporters from their November 6 Europa League match against Aston Villa.

You need someone who understands basic English to explain it to you ...

... I can't be bothered to show you the difference between 'possible' and 'fact'.

'You said ' Shabana Mahmood’s own department knew about the decision to ban Israeli football fans a week ago' which was incorrect.

The decision wasn't announced 'a week before'.

'Israeli football fans could be banned' isn't the same as 'will be banned' <doh>

Did you read the report? Sounds like the Police were the problem?

Which fans are you talking about because it doesn’t actually name which fans were causing the disturbance or which clubs fans were arrested?

Looks like you’ve jumped the gun in your urge to put down the Jewish supporters that have been ridiculously banned from attending a football game in our country.

Must be a nightmare when the mask slips like that. Ooops.

Both sets of fans involved apparently, and the police say they have video evidence. A quick 30 second search provides plenty more info

Interesting that you prefer to believe a club statement rather than the police who say they have video evidence and will be prosecuting offenders. And you can **** off with your veiled accusations of antisemitism, plenty of Jewish fans attend games, including Jewish Aston Villa fans, without feeling the need to be violent and cause disruption.

Now you're quoting, directly, *Kemi Badenoch who was claiming the ban was put in place a week before it actually was.

It still hasn't been a week since the ban was first announced.

    • BBC News - 16th October 2025
No Maccabi Tel Aviv fans will be allowed to attend their Europa League match away to Aston Villa because of safety concerns.

West Midlands Police has concerns about its ability to deal with any potential protests when the Israeli side play at Villa Park on Thursday, 6th November.

The Safety Advisory Group - the body responsible for issuing safety certificates for matches - informed Villa that no travelling fans will be permitted at the match in Birmingham.

Just another Cabinet member to add to the long list of others and Labour MP's who continue to spout lies. Part of the norm for these now.
