Some of the commentary in this game: “When you make those crossfield passes, you have to make sure you find the player” “When you make a tackle like that, you have to make sure you win the ball” Umm…yeah, thanks.
Good of Liverpool to continue showing that integrating a lot of new players, even when absolutely world class, takes some time.
I had a feeling that Liverpool would find this season difficult. They got sloppy last season when they had secured the title. Glad to see them struggling. The title is between City and Arsenal this season.
Game actually reminded me of Still a bit. Loads and loads of crosses and chuck all the forwards on in a weird formation when needing a goal.
Can make an argument if you wanted to. Didn’t change anything last year as they didn’t sign anyone and won the league with a low points total, and second place having a very low total for second. So could argue that the other teams were poor rather than Liverpool being THAT good Signed his ow players this year and changed how they play moving away from Trent/Klopp and they have started very poorly. Could obviously all start to click over the coming weeks but don’t think it’s that hard to think Slot isn’t all that based on the evidence
Looks like only two new signings started for Liverpool, so not sure if integrating new players is the sole issue. Could also be the hangover effect from winning the title.
Maybe, but if some on here won't believe we have scar tissue from finishing a season on 12 points, I definitely won't believe Liverpool are **** because they stormed the league...
Well only starting two of their new players to me would suggest precisely an issue with finding the right blend.
It happens though. The season after Man City won the treble, they struggled, and were in 4th place halfway through the following season, and only finally regained top spot with two or three games to go.
