Leonard for them took Joseph out with the help of Stansfield , he got away with his part .
Saw Giles several times asking or telling The boss that he needed help. , their two wide men were passing round him , Roberts is a handful .
My complaint with Coyle is that he often ball watches whilst a man gets behind him , he’s been good this season so far but he needs to improve in this area.
Did you read where the boss said they didn’t play at all like they practised all week in the first half and didn’t know why ? , I think he maybe wanted us to be more expansive but we just kept booting them the ball or losing it with poor control .

Not sure about that. In the Waggy and Chillo days and beyond I always felt we had probably more respect than our mediocre league status warranted.

In the Waggy and Chillo days we didn't have the same level of ****itude that we have now: we also didn't have t'internet, it's easy on there to slag off provincial cities like Hull etc as '****' and 'dumps' without ever having set foot in them.

Trouble is the dunces spouting the stuff are of the age when we were in the lower divisions - ‘rugby town’ my arse .

In the past 40 years I've heard many disparaging comments about my home town but only once from someone who'd actually been there and his opinion was somewhat bizarre. Essentially he'd spent 2 years working at Salt End, was constantly homesick, returned to the North East every weekend and had never once been out in Hull. He just went back to his digs every night. He didn't so much hate Hull as hate his life.

Everyone else who I've ever spoken to who has been to Hull speaks really positively of the place. Every person who attended the University loved it and the city, and I know a fair few folk who reckon a weekend in Hull is their favourite City break.

My all-time favourite though was the pub team from Wallsend who always booked their end of season, get-away piss-up in Hull.
One lad told me, with a completely straight face, that his favourite night of the year was the one he spent in Cheese which he reckoned was the best pub in the world.

He must have scored in there and got his leg over, it's the only way it could have been a memorable night.

I can echo a lot of that, Ernie - my wife's a Londoner and she still has family there, they all like a drink and when I mentioned taking them to Hull they were really dubious as they'd 'heard' it was a bit of a hole - you know the rest of the story, Old Town pubs, friendly and funny people, they loved it so much they come up to ours just to have another night out in Hull.

It might not have been the first one to come to mind without you prompting, but I could definitely get behind ‘memorable’ as an adjective to describe a night in Cheese to be fair.
