**** off Chippy. You're sacked. GG's at that point of calling for Eddie's head when it's not his fault - It's yours for doing **** match day threads.
We look jaded and almost bored, lacking freshness and ideas. Gordon, Joelinton, Elanga, Barnes, Trippier, Burn, Pope. It’s a lengthening list of players who are all playing badly, getting worse. Hard to think Wissa is going to make a world of difference though the losses of hall and Tino have been problematic .
He's got to get Burn out of the side if he's not playing CB. If the back line is parked on the 18 yard box, that's the problem. Certain individuals have been struggling, but it's not like they're in easy areas to play out from.. They're miles away from the fwds and the fwd miles away from them. The players look miserable, and I get the impression one or two are already plotting their next move, but they'll all turn up on Tuesday.
The loss of Livramento was a huge blow. Best right back and second choice left back. Having to revert to Trippier and Burn is a massive drop off. However I don’t know what’s happened fo the rest. Joelinton looks shot, as does Gordon, Elanga has been mostly woeful. Left wing is a bigger concern than right at the moment. Just not sure the 433 works anymore, or at least not with the players we’ve got. I think part of the issue is Howe took us to incredible places but with a counter attack. Most teams have worked us out and our transfer policy has kind of followed the same pattern of buying runners rather than guile in forward areas. That means we just don’t have the players or management to dictate or control a game.
Livramento is also the only player in our defence or midfield who's capable of carrying the ball... Ramsay can, so we need to get him in I think. The side that's been created looks short in some way in every area of the pitch. Tonali Guimareas and Joelinton are being defeated with one pass over and over again, so we've been figured out I think. Gordon? He's not arsed about his Newcastle career I don't think. He's got the jenas like attitude since playing for England.
**** me, only 2 posts into the new thread and GG's on the rampage already, this one's gonna be a trainwreck too. Danny Welbeck is widely considered to be playing the best football of his career right now, and has been a key player for a very solid Brighton team for years. But I guess your ego can't handle a player you consider beneath you scoring against us. Anyway back to the game (remember when these threads were about football matches?), we're fairly strong favourites for this, beating Mourinho is always fun.
The question is, firstly, would EH play Hall (when fully fit) or Burn at left back. I think it would be Hall. Secondly, Tino seems to be first alternative at left back but he’s also unfit. Therefore, we are playing Burn at left back who IMO is third choice in that position. For a third choice Burn isn’t a bad choice and, in the ordinary case of events, you wouldn’t be expecting him to play in that position very often. In that context Burn is an acceptable choice for that position as realistically who would you play that would be a better third choice left back?
From the Forest thread 2 weeks ago, Elanga was raw and hadn't convinced him at that point, a few days later Elanga is the biggest waste of money in history:
